My Tcl Roku Tv Wont Connect To The Internet

My TCL Roku TV. We have a complicated relationship, you see.
Especially when it comes to connecting to the internet. Or, more accurately, not connecting.
The Dreaded "Not Connected" Screen
That darn screen. You know the one. The one that taunts you with its cheerful font and utterly useless error messages.
Must Read
It's like, "Hey there! Just letting you know you can't watch Netflix. Have a nice day!" Seriously, Roku, could you be any less helpful?
My Unpopular Opinion: Routers Are Overrated
Okay, here's where I might lose some of you. I think routers are just glorified paperweights sometimes. Especially when my TCL Roku TV decides it's router-phobic.
I mean, it worked yesterday! What changed? Did the router suddenly develop a personality and decide it dislikes streaming?
It is always the router's fault anyway, right?

The Ritualistic Restart
So, the first thing I do? Unplug everything. The TV, the router, the modem. It's like performing a digital exorcism.
Then I wait. Impatiently. Staring at the blinking lights, willing them to cooperate. This is my internet voodoo.
Plugging it all back in is like a tiny miracle. Will it work? Will it not? The suspense is almost unbearable.
The Remote Control Dance
If the unplugging doesn't work (and let's be honest, it often doesn't), then comes the remote control dance. A series of button presses that I've learned through sheer desperation.

"Home button, up, right, down, left, A, B, select, power." It's basically a cheat code for the internet. Or at least, I hope it is.
And the worst part? I can never quite remember the correct sequence. But hey, at least I’m getting my exercise.
The Endless Search for Solutions
Google becomes my best friend (and worst enemy). Searching for phrases like "TCL Roku TV no internet" yields a million results.
Each result with a different suggestion. Clear the cache. Update the software. Factory reset. Are you kidding me?

It’s like being a doctor diagnosing a mysterious illness. Except the patient is a stubborn television.
Blame the Neighbors
Okay, this is probably not true. But I like to blame my neighbors' wifi sometimes. Maybe they're hogging all the bandwidth.
Maybe their cat is secretly hacking my network. I’m not saying it’s likely, but I'm also not not saying it.
They are clearly streaming in 4k all the time.

Acceptance (and Maybe a New TV?)
Eventually, I reach a point of acceptance. Maybe the internet just doesn't want me to watch TV tonight. Fine.
I'll read a book. Or, more likely, I'll just stare at the wall and contemplate the mysteries of technology.
Or maybe, just maybe, it's time for a new TV. One that doesn't have a vendetta against my router. I am looking at you Samsung.
Until then, I'll keep battling the dreaded "Not Connected" screen. It's just another day in the life of a Roku owner.
