My Status As An Assassin Anime Episode 1

Okay, confession time. I watched the first episode of My Status As An Assassin Obviously Exceeds The Brave's. Yep, I said it.
And... I didn't hate it. I know, I know, gasp. Prepare for my hot take.
Episode 1: My Slightly-Above-Average-For-An-Anime Thoughts
Let's be real. Anime first episodes can be...rough. They're like first dates. Awkward exposition and forced smiles.
Must Read
But hey, at least this episode had a premise. Our boy, Lugh Tuatha Dé, gets reincarnated.
Except he's not just anyone. He's a super-assassin! Already better than getting a boring office job, right?
The Good (Maybe?)
The action scenes? Not terrible. Some sparkly magic and stabby-stab stuff.
His new family seems nice-ish. Rich, at least. Which is always a plus in these isekai situations. I mean, who wants to be a poor assassin?

The art style? Pretty standard fare. Nothing groundbreaking. But easy on the eyes, I suppose.
The Questionable
That goddess. You know, the one who sends him to this new world? Super sketchy vibe.
Always offering "help" but clearly manipulating everything. Like a pushy mom, but with divine powers.
And the "assignment" she gives him? Assassinate the Hero. Talk about a heavy burden for a kid who just wants a peaceful life... maybe?

The pacing felt a bit rushed, too. One minute he's dying, the next he's a baby genius. No in-between.
Unpopular Opinion Alert!
Okay, here it comes. I wasn't completely bored. There, I said it!
I've seen far worse isekai beginnings. At least this one had a clear goal, even if it's morally questionable.
The potential for some cool assassin skills is there. And who doesn't love a bit of morally grey action?

"But it's so generic!" – The Internet, probably.
Yeah, yeah. I know. It's another isekai. Another reincarnation story. Another overpowered protagonist. But sometimes, you just want something predictable.
Like comfort food, but animated. Don't judge me!
Look, I'm not saying it's a masterpiece. It's not going to win any awards.
But My Status As An Assassin episode one? It's not the worst thing I've ever watched. Not by a long shot.

Will I watch episode two? Maybe. Just to see if Lugh actually goes through with the whole Hero assassination thing. Call me morbidly curious.
Don't tell anyone I admitted this. My anime cred might be on the line.
But hey, if you secretly enjoyed it too, let's be friends. We can bond over our questionable taste.
Just kidding! (Mostly.)
