My Hero Academia Season 5 Episode 18 English Dub
Okay, heroes and villains! Let's talk My Hero Academia, specifically Season 5 Episode 18, but like, the English dub version.
I know, I know. Subs are usually better. But hear me out, dub fans!
The Great Joint Training Battle… Again!
So, this episode... it's a continuation of the whole Class A vs. Class B training arc. We get it, guys! You're both super strong.
Must Read
I personally felt it dragged a bit. Did we REALLY need that many episodes?
Unpopular Opinion Time!
Alright, brace yourselves. This might sting some sub-only watchers. I kind of… enjoyed the English dub in this episode more than the original.
Don't throw tomatoes yet! Let me explain (sort of). The voice acting, to me, felt particularly on point.
Specifically, Deku’s voice during the whole Blackwhip freak-out? Seriously good stuff!
It really sold the whole "I'm losing control" vibe. The panic was palpable.

And okay, maybe I just really like Justin Briner’s performance as Deku. Sue me!
The Quirks and the Quibbles
The episode itself is mostly focused on the battles, which are visually cool.
Seeing the different Quirks clash is always entertaining. But sometimes, it’s a bit… much.
Too many Quirks! Too little time! It's hard to keep track of everyone’s abilities.
And let's be honest, some Quirks are just… weird. Like, really weird.

I’m looking at you, guys with the tape and the lizard tail.
Dub vs. Sub: A Personal Preference
Look, I’m not saying the English dub is objectively superior. Calm down, purists!
It’s all subjective. But sometimes, after a long day, I just want to watch anime without having to read.
Is that so wrong? Maybe. Probably. But I'm owning it.
Plus, the English dub gives the characters a slightly different flavor. It’s a new experience!

It's like trying a different spice on your favorite dish. Sometimes it’s amazing, sometimes it's not. But it's always interesting.
Blackwhip: Officially Deku's Problem Now
The big takeaway from this episode? Blackwhip is a thing now. And Deku is struggling to control it.
This is obviously setting up some major character development. Expect a lot more angst and internal monologues.
Get ready for Deku to question everything he thought he knew about his Quirk.
And probably cry a lot. Because that's what Deku does best.

Final Verdict (Maybe)
So, was Season 5 Episode 18 of My Hero Academia amazing? Eh, not really. But it was still fun.
And the English dub? I genuinely enjoyed it. Especially Deku’s freak out scene.
But remember, this is just one person's opinion. You do you! Watch it in whatever language makes you happy.
Just… maybe give the dub a chance. You might be surprised!
Now if you excuse me, I'm going to go re-watch the Blackwhip scene. For research purposes, of course.
Plus Ultra! … Or something.
