My Hero Academia Season 5 Episode 105

Okay, let's talk about My Hero Academia. Season 5, specifically episode 105. Remember that one?
Yeah, the Joint Training arc was... well, let’s just say it sparked some interesting opinions.
Shinso's Back! (Sort Of)
First, we got to see more of Shinso. I was so hyped!
Must Read
He's got that cool mind-control thing. So useful. Yet somehow still feels a bit underutilized, am I right?
He was trying so hard to get into the hero course. Bless his purple-haired heart. I totally get the struggle.
The Class 1-A vs. 1-B Debacle
Okay, now for the match-ups. Class 1-A versus Class 1-B. It was basically quirk Olympics.
Who had the flashier power? Who had the better teamwork? It was like watching kids on a playground arguing about whose imaginary superpower was stronger.

Let's be real, though. Sometimes, the strategies felt a little… random. Like, “Okay, go do a thing!” Genius.
My Hot Take: The Animation
Here's where I might ruffle some feathers. The animation. Don't get me wrong, MHA is usually gorgeous.
But did anyone else think some of the fights in this episode felt a little… stiff? Like the animators were running low on energy drinks?
I'm not saying it was bad. Just… not peak MHA animation. Fight me (virtually, please).

Monoma: The Master of Mimicry (and Mockery)
Let's not forget Monoma. That guy is a walking talking meme. Seriously.
Copying quirks and then trash-talking? It’s a combo. He's like the internet troll of the hero world. I kind of respect it.
I mean, sure, it’s annoying for Class 1-A, but it's comedy gold for us viewers. Right? Right?
Bakugo's Explosive Personality (Surprise!)
And then there’s Bakugo. Always angry. Always exploding. Never change, buddy.
Seeing him lead his team was... an experience. He yells a lot, if you didn't already notice.

But he got results! Kind of. Still, his brand of leadership is… unique, to say the least.
The Underdog Story (Again)
The whole episode felt a bit like the classic underdog story. Again. We get it, anyone can be a hero! Even the people who aren't naturally gifted!
While I appreciate the message, it's a trope. I've seen it done better. I wished that they played with the themes more.
Perhaps MHA could have played with the tension more. Maybe some of the fights were even set up to favor the "underdog" from 1-B.

Overall Thoughts (Prepare for Controversy)
Okay, so, unpopular opinion time. Episode 105? It wasn't the worst episode of MHA. But it wasn't the best.
It felt a little… filler-y. Like the series was stalling for time before getting to the real meat of the season.
Don't get me wrong, I love My Hero Academia. I'll keep watching. But sometimes, even heroes have off days. This was one of those days.
So, yeah. That's my take. Agree? Disagree? Let me know in the comments. (Please be nice.)
