My Hero Academia Season 3 Episode 7 Funimation

Okay, folks, let's talk My Hero Academia. Specifically, Season 3, Episode 7. Funimation's version, of course.
I know, I know. We're talking about the Forest Training Camp arc. Intense, right? Explosions, villains, and... well, let's just say not everyone makes it out unscathed.
The Calm Before the Storm (Or Not So Calm?)
This episode is supposed to be a "breather," isn't it? Before everything REALLY hits the fan. They're doing rescue training. Seems innocent enough.
Must Read
But here's my controversial opinion: I think it's kind of... boring? Don't get me wrong, I love the characters. But compared to what's coming, it feels like filler sometimes.
Is it just me? Am I the only one itching for more villain action at this point? Poor Kota needs saving and all, but come on!
The Pussycats and... Broccoli Boy?
We get some good moments with the Pussycats. They're quirky and powerful. Love their hero costumes!.
And Deku's trying his best to impress everyone. Bless his heart. He's always giving 110% even when he's face-planting in the dirt.

But even Deku's earnestness couldn't fully hold my attention. I was too busy waiting for the League of Villains to show up and crash the party.
Funimation's Dub: Love it or Hate it?
Now, the Funimation dub. A necessary element to watch My Hero Academia for the English audience. Some people swear by it.
Others... well, let's just say they prefer the subbed version. Different strokes for different folks, right?
I personally think the voice acting is pretty solid. Justin Briner as Deku is a perfect match. He captures the character's vulnerability and determination perfectly.

That One Line...
There's always that one line in every dub that sounds a little off, isn't there? You know the one I mean.
It's usually something awkwardly translated or delivered with a strange emphasis. It's almost always memorable, though not always for the right reasons.
I won't call out any specific lines from this episode. We don't want to start any wars! I'm sure that all of you reading this are thinking of that "one line."
The Foreshadowing is Real
Okay, okay, I'll admit it. The episode does have its merits. The foreshadowing is definitely on point.

We get glimpses of the villains' plan. Little hints of the chaos to come. It's like a slow-burning fuse.
And that brief encounter with Shigaraki? Chilling. He's such a creep! You just know things are about to get real bad.
Worth the Watch?
So, is Season 3 Episode 7 of My Hero Academia on Funimation worth your time? Absolutely. It's part of the overall story.
It builds the tension and sets the stage for the epic battles to come. Plus, you get to see the characters interact in a (relatively) peaceful setting before everything goes to hell.

Just don't expect non-stop action. Sometimes, even heroes need a bit of downtime... even if it's slightly less interesting downtime, I will admit.
Final Thoughts
Maybe I'm being too harsh. Maybe I just have a short attention span. Maybe I just really like seeing explosions.
Whatever the reason, I stand by my opinion. Episode 7 is good, but not great. It's a necessary stepping stone on the path to greatness.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go rewatch the rest of the season. For research purposes, of course.
