My Hero Academia: I See You (And It's Kinda Messy)

Okay, okay, hear me out. We all love My Hero Academia, right? The heroes, the villains, the explosions...it's great!

But let's be real. Sometimes, the "hero" thing gets a little… weird. I'm talking about the whole "I see potential in you" thing.

The All Might Effect

Think about All Might. He spots Deku, a quirkless kid, and BAM! Instant successor. It's inspiring, sure. But is it the best strategy?

Like, what if All Might tripped over a grumpy cat instead? Would that be the next Symbol of Peace? Just kidding... mostly.

Seriously though, the show acts like having someone believe in you solves everything. Believing in yourself is also a thing, show!

Aizawa: Nurturer or Nuisance?

Then there's Aizawa. He's got that "I'm cynical but secretly care" vibe. And he does care, in his own sleepy way.

But his method? Erasure Quirk, threats of expulsion, and general grumpiness. Does that really cultivate the next generation of heroes? I'm not so sure.

He keeps saying he sees potential, but honestly, he just expects them not to be complete disasters. Low bar, dude. Very low.

The "Chosen One" Trope Gets Tired

Don't get me wrong. I love a good underdog story. Deku is basically the poster child for it!

But the whole "chosen one" thing can feel a little... overused. It's like the heroes are constantly searching for the next big thing.

What about the heroes who steadily improve with hard work? The ones who aren't magically "seen"? They deserve some love too!

Sidekicks Get No Respect!

Okay, maybe not no respect. But let’s be honest. Sidekicks are constantly overlooked.

They are the unsung heroes. They don't get the glory but do a lot of grunt work.

Give my boy Sero some credit! That tape is seriously underrated. Tape is so useful!

Villains Get the "I See You" Treatment Too

It's not just heroes who get the "I see you" treatment. Villains do too! Look at Shigaraki.

All For One basically adopted him. He saw potential… for destruction. That's a messed-up mentorship if I've ever seen one.

So, yeah, the "I see you" thing works both ways. It's like a dangerous power to have. Makes you wonder if people would be better off not being seen sometimes.

Final Thoughts (Unpopular Opinion Alert!)

Look, I'm not saying "My Hero Academia" is bad. It's awesome! But the whole "I see you" thing? It can be a little... much.

Sometimes, the best heroes are the ones who just keep going, even when no one notices. Or maybe the heroes are the friends we made along the way? I don't know.

Maybe Midoriya just got lucky that All Might was in a good mood that day? Food for thought.
