But eight episodes felt like a sprint through a marathon. So much happened! War, factories, babies!
We crammed a decade of these women’s turbulent lives into a comparatively short amount of screen time.
More Episodes, More Pizza, More Everything!
Imagine, just imagine, if we had ten! Or twelve! Think of the character development we could have seen. The extra scenes exploring Lila's entrepreneurial spirit.
Maybe even a longer glimpse into Elena's literary journey. Plus, more Neapolitan landscapes. Who would say no to that?
I know, I know. Quality over quantity, right? But with a show as richly detailed as My Brilliant Friend, quantity can also equal quality!
The Unfolding Drama Needs Breathing Room
Season 3 covered a lot of ground. The social upheaval, the changing dynamics between Elena and Lila... it all felt a bit rushed at times.
More episodes would have allowed the emotional weight of each event to truly sink in. We could have felt the passage of time more profoundly.
Instead of a whirlwind, we get a slow burn of intensity and understanding!
My (Probably Unrealistic) Dream Season
Picture this: extended scenes of Lila and Enzo grappling with the challenges of their new life. More exploration of Elena's anxieties about motherhood and her writing career.
Even just a few extra scenes delving into the lives of the supporting characters, like Pasquale and Nadia. So much potential!
I'm not saying rewrite the entire season. Just… sprinkle in a little more magic dust with some additional episodes.
