Movie Titles With References To Something Circular

Movies. We love them. But have you ever stopped to think about the titles? Specifically, the ones that hint at… well, circles? Or things that go round and round? Prepare for a cinematic spiral!
Round and Round We Go: A Movie Title Whirlwind
It’s more common than you think. Movies that use circles, rings, cycles, and revolutions in their names. Let's dive in, shall we?
The Lord of the Rings: Obvious, But Necessary
Okay, this one is a no-brainer. The Lord of the Rings. The entire plot revolves around…you guessed it, some rings! And a very persistent hobbit with hairy feet.
Must Read
Frodo's got that heavy jewelry and takes it somewhere, while dealing with all the side effects of it. One ring to rule them all, and all that jazz.
Groundhog Day: A Very Circular Existence
Phil Connors (played brilliantly by Bill Murray) relives the same day over and over. A time loop! Hence, circular.
Punxsutawney Phil, the groundhog, might be predicting the weather, but Phil Connors is stuck in the weather. My unpopular opinion? This movie is slightly overrated. Fight me!

Circle: Now That’s Just Lazy!
Alright, Circle. A movie literally named after a circle. Points for honesty, I guess?
It's a low-budget thriller where people have to vote each other to death. Sounds…circular? Maybe. Slightly anxiety-inducing? Definitely. But the title is on the nose.
Revolutionary Road: More of an Oval, Really
Here's where it gets interesting. Revolutionary Road. Is a road a circle? No. Does the movie involve a revolution? Sort of, in the characters' minds.

It's a very depressing movie about suburban discontent. So, while not literally circular, the characters' lives feel trapped in a cyclical pattern. Hence, the title does have its circularity implied, in a figurative way.
Honorable Mentions (Because I Can’t Stop)
Let's throw in some more. American Beauty has cycles of dissatisfaction, The Lion King with the Circle of Life. See, circles are everywhere!
Even Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, with memories fading in and out, has a cycle to it. And don’t even get me started on sequels and remakes! The ultimate cinematic cycle!

My Unpopular Opinion: Circular Titles Are Overused
Look, I get it. Circles represent completion, repetition, infinity. But sometimes, it feels like filmmakers are just grabbing at low-hanging fruit.
Give me some originality! I want a movie called Squiggle of Despair or Parallelogram of Panic! Okay, maybe not. But still, break the circle!
Perhaps this is an unpopular opinion, but in a world where you can watch any movie, anytime, I'm sure you can agree with me.

So, What’s the Point of All This Circular Thinking?
Maybe there isn’t a point. Maybe I just like overthinking movie titles. Or maybe…everything is connected!
Or maybe I'm just waiting for a movie titled Non-Euclidean Nightmare. Now that would be something truly…out there.
Until then, I'll keep spinning in this movie-title-obsessed circle. Thanks for joining the ride!
