Motherland Fort Salem Season 2 How Many Episodes

Okay, let's talk Motherland: Fort Salem Season 2. Specifically, how many episodes were we blessed (or cursed, depending on your viewpoint) with?
The answer? Ten. Ten episodes of witches, warfare, and wonderfully awkward romance. But honestly, was it enough? That's the real question, isn't it?
Ten Episodes: A Magical Miscalculation?
Don't get me wrong, I devoured every single episode. I lived for the special effects and the surprisingly compelling plot twists. Still, ten episodes felt... skimpy.
Must Read
Seriously, we're dealing with a complex world. There are ancient prophecies and political intrigue. Not to mention, a whole bunch of characters whose backstories we barely scratched the surface of. Ten episodes just wasn't enough real estate to explore everything properly.
My Unpopular Opinion: We Needed More!
Here's where I might lose some of you. I think Season 2 needed at least thirteen episodes. Maybe even fifteen! Hear me out.
Think about it. Three extra episodes could have allowed for deeper dives into the characters' motivations. Imagine exploring Tally's visions or Abigail's internal struggles in more detail.

More episodes could also have expanded the world-building. We could have seen more of the Spree. Also, it would be nice to understand the Camarilla's goals beyond just "destroy all witches".
And let’s be real, extra episodes mean more screen time for our favorite characters. More Raelle and Scylla! More Anacostia being a badass! It's a win-win!
Did the Story Suffer?
Did the limited episode count hurt the story? Arguably, yes. Plot threads felt rushed at times. Character development felt uneven in certain areas.

The season finale, while exciting, left a lot of unanswered questions. So many cliffhangers! It felt like they were cramming too much into too little space.
Maybe that's just good storytelling. Maybe that's just a ploy to make us crave Season 3. But a part of me thinks a longer season could have allowed the story to breathe more.
The "Binge-ability" Factor
Okay, I'll admit it. The short season made it incredibly binge-able. I powered through it in like, two days. No regrets! But the experience felt fleeting.

A longer season would have allowed me to savor the experience. I could stretch out the suspense and the drama. Instead, it was over before I knew it.
Maybe I'm just greedy. I want more witchy goodness! Is that so wrong?
Looking Ahead (or Behind?)
Of course, it's all water under the bridge now. Season 2 is what it is. Ten glorious, slightly-too-short episodes.

We have Season 3 to look forward to. Hopefully, it will build upon the foundation laid in Season 2. Hopefully, the writers will make the most of their episode count.
But secretly, I'll always wonder what Season 2 could have been with a few more episodes. More magic, more character development, more witchy world-building. A girl can dream, right?
So, here's to Motherland: Fort Salem. A show I love, even if I think it could have been even better with just a little more time to cook.
What do you think? Was ten episodes enough? Or are you with me in wanting more? Let the debate begin!
