Mlb The Show 22 April Monthly Awards Stage 2

MLB The Show 22: April's Forgotten Heroes (Stage 2 Edition!)
Okay, let's be honest. Remember April Monthly Awards Stage 2 in MLB The Show 22? Yeah, me neither, really.
It's like that one relative you only see at Thanksgiving. You know they exist, but you can't quite remember their name. Was it... Mildred?
The Grind: Was It Worth It?
The grind itself was… well, a grind. Remember those moments where you had to steal bases with a common player against Mariano Rivera on Legend difficulty?
Must Read
Or maybe get 10 hits with a bronze outfielder who apparently used a pool noodle as a bat. It's still giving me nightmares.
I will confess: I spent a lot of time complaining. And I'm pretty sure I wasn't alone.
The Cards: Gems or Busts?
The big reward was usually some 90+ overall card. But were they actually any good? Or just fodder for the inevitable Team Affinity grind?

I have a controversial opinion: Many of these cards weren't that amazing. Sure, Wander Franco was alright.
But did they truly replace your core squad? For most of us, probably not. They became bench warmers and pinch-hitters extraordinaire.
That One Card Everyone Chased
Every monthly program had that one card everyone wanted. Maybe it was speed. Maybe power. Or maybe just a shiny new name to show off in Ranked Seasons.
For Stage 2 of April, I think it was Joe Musgrove. Everyone wanted that no-hitter hero on their squad.

Did he live up to the hype? Again, another unpopular opinion: He was decent! Just not end-game material.
Moments: The Stuff of Legends (and Controller-Throwing)
Oh, the moments. Remember those? Recreating a single play from a real MLB game in all its glory. Or, more accurately, frustration.
Trying to hit a game-winning home run with two outs in the bottom of the ninth felt more like trying to solve a Rubik's Cube blindfolded while juggling chainsaws.
Seriously, some of those moments were just… unfair. Did anyone actually enjoy them? Or did we all just grit our teeth and power through?

Unpopular Opinion Alert: The Art of the PXP Grind
Okay, here's where I might lose some of you. I actually... didn't mind the PXP grind that much.
Hear me out! It forced me to use different players. It made me experiment with lineups. It gave me a reason to play Conquest mode.
Yes, it was repetitive. But it was also strangely… relaxing? Like mowing the lawn, but with a virtual baseball bat.
The April Monthly Awards: A Fond (and Slightly Annoyed) Memory
In the end, the April Monthly Awards Stage 2 was a fleeting moment in the MLB The Show 22 cycle.

We grinded, we complained, we (maybe) got some decent cards. But mostly, we survived.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go see if I can find that Mildred relative. Or at least remember which card was the Stage 2 boss reward!
And let's not forget the real mvp: the 'sim' button. Thank you for saving me from countless hours of tedious gameplay. You're a lifesaver.
Anyway, thanks for remembering with me. Now, what's for lunch?
