Michael Scott Where Are All The Hot People

Okay, let's be honest. We all love The Office.
It's a classic. But I have a question. A burning question, really.
Where Are All The Hot People?
Seriously! I'm talking about Dunder Mifflin Scranton. Supposedly, people are dating, having affairs, and getting married.
Must Read
But where are the actors/actresses that convey people’s physical attraction?
The Case of Michael Scott
Let's start with our fearless leader, Michael Scott.
Now, Steve Carell is hilarious. A comedic genius.
But "sexy"? I don't think so. Especially when he's yelling "That’s what she said!".
And that’s fine! The comedy comes from his flaws. But the show also portrays that many women are attracted to him. Where does that come from?
The Core Crew: Pam, Jim, Dwight
Okay, Jim Halpert (John Krasinski) is handsome. I'll give you that.

But he's like, the ONLY traditionally "hot" person in the main cast.
Pam Beesly (Jenna Fischer) is cute and relatable.
But is she the office bombshell? Nope. And Dwight Schrute... well, he's Dwight Schrute.
Rainn Wilson does an amazing job portraying this bizarre character. He is memorable, but definitely not because of “attractiveness”.
The Supporting Cast: A Mixed Bag
What about the supporting players? Angela? Phyllis?
Stanley? Kevin? Oscar?

They're all fantastic characters. Brilliantly acted. But "hot" isn't exactly the first word that springs to mind.
Creed Bratton is a legend. But not in a Brad Pitt kind of way. You get my point.
Even the people Michael pines after. Holly Flax? Jan Levinson?
They are portrayed by great actresses, but not necessarily as a “hot” character.
Is It On Purpose?
Maybe this is the point of the show.
The Office is about everyday people. Normal looking people. With normal lives.

Perhaps casting conventionally attractive actors would undermine the show’s core message.
It makes the show relatable because we see our selves, and our coworkers in them.
Still, I can’t help but wonder. Surely, some good looking people should exist in Dunder Mifflin?
Unpopular Opinion: Time for a Recast
Okay, hear me out. What if they did a reboot?
Same storylines. Same jokes. But with a ridiculously attractive cast?
Imagine a supermodel version of Angela. Or a beefed-up, GQ version of Kevin.

It would be hilarious to see them doing the same mundane tasks and be super attractive characters.
Okay, maybe it's a terrible idea. But it's fun to think about, right?
Final Thoughts: Still Love the Show
Ultimately, I love The Office the way it is.
The cast is perfect. The writing is brilliant.
But the lack of "hot" people is something I just can't unsee. It’s not a complaint. Just an observation.
Maybe I'm just shallow. Or maybe, just maybe, Michael Scott had a point when he questioned the attractiveness of the office staff.
Now, back to rewatching my favorite episodes!
