Mayans M.c. - Season 4 Number Of Episodes

Okay, let's talk Mayans M.C. Season 4. Specifically, how many episodes it had. Ten. Ten episodes, right?
Ten Episodes: Was it Enough?
For the record, I actually enjoyed Season 4. It was gritty, emotional, and full of drama. But... and this is where my unpopular opinion comes in...
I think ten episodes just wasn't quite enough. Hear me out before you grab your pitchforks.
Must Read
So Much Story, So Little Time!
Think about everything that happened. EZ's rise, the brewing war with the Sons, Angel's baby drama. Plus, Adelita's struggles, and the whole Santo Padre charter trying to survive. Phew!
It felt like they were cramming a whole lot of action into a limited timeframe. Remember how some storylines felt a little rushed? I'm not the only one, right?
I felt like some character development got shortchanged. Especially some of the newer characters. They needed more screen time to really make an impact.

"Give me more!," said every Mayans fan ever. Probably.
My Unpopular Opinion: We Needed More!
I know, I know. Ten episodes is standard for a lot of shows these days. Budgets, scheduling, the apocalypse... I get it.
But Mayans M.C. isn't just any show. It's a complex tapestry of relationships, loyalties, and betrayals. It demands room to breathe!
Imagine if we'd had, say, twelve episodes. Or even thirteen! That extra time could have allowed for deeper dives into character motivations. It could have fleshed out some of the more complicated plotlines.

More Episodes, More Mayhem (and Emotion)!
Think about all the possibilities! More scenes with EZ grappling with his decisions. More time spent exploring the fallout from the various betrayals. And definitely more awkward family dinners with Felipe.
Extra episodes could also allow for better pacing. Some scenes felt like they jumped from zero to sixty way too fast. A more gradual build-up would have made those moments even more impactful.
Don't get me wrong, the writers did an amazing job with what they had. But I can't help but feel like they were working with one hand tied behind their back.

But Hey, It Was Still Awesome!
Despite my longing for more, I still loved Season 4. The acting was superb. The action was intense. The drama was top-notch.
JD Pardo killed it as always. Clayton Cardenas brought the emotion. And everyone else brought their A-game too. Seriously, the whole cast is fantastic.
And the ending? Talk about a cliffhanger! I'm already counting down the days until Season 5.

In Conclusion (and a Plea for More)
So, yes, I think Mayans M.C. Season 4 could have benefited from a few extra episodes. I said it! Are you happy now?
But even with its limitations, it was still a fantastic season of television. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go rewatch it and dream about what could have been.
And secretly hope that maybe, just maybe, Season 5 will have a few extra surprises in store. A guy can dream, right?
