Made In Abyss What Happened To Prushka

Okay, let's talk about Prushka. You know, the lovable, huggable... uh... cube? Yeah, that's right. Cube.
We all love Made in Abyss, right? Adventures, mysteries, cute characters getting into slightly dangerous situations. Keyword: slightly (wink).
The Prushka Predicament
Seriously though, what happened to Prushka? I mean, we see her transformed into a Life Reverberating Stone. A whistle. A cute, but ultimately, inanimate object.
Must Read
And, look, I know. It's emotional. It's powerful storytelling. But hear me out: did she really need to be a whistle?
Was that really the best outcome for everyone involved? Riko gets a power-up. Reg has a friend in his pocket (literally). But Prushka? She's a musical instrument.
An Unpopular Opinion?
Okay, unpopular opinion time! I think Prushka got the short end of the abyss-shaped stick. There, I said it.

Everyone's always talking about how moving and impactful the scene was. And it is. But it also feels… kind of unfair, doesn't it?
We spend time getting to know her. We see her bond with Riko and Reg. She’s got dreams, feelings, and then… poof. Instant whistle.
I'm not saying it ruined the show or anything. Not at all! It's Made in Abyss, it’s supposed to mess with your emotions. But come on!

Couldn't there have been, like, any other way? A magical flower that blooms once a year with her essence? A spirit companion that follows them? Anything but a whistle!
The Whistle Dilemma
I get it. The symbolism is heavy. The power of friendship, blah blah blah. But I miss the Prushka that talked and laughed and wanted to climb into the Abyss.
Now she's just... vibrations. Melodic vibrations, granted. But still.

Maybe I'm being too sentimental. Maybe I just wanted to see Prushka kick some abyss monster butt alongside Riko and Reg.
Instead, she's strapped to Riko's backpack. A constant reminder of... well, you know. The Abyss giveth, and the Abyss taketh away... and sometimes turns you into a musical instrument.
In Conclusion (Kind Of)
So, yeah. That's my take on the Prushka situation. A beautiful, tragic, and slightly whistle-y situation.

Am I the only one who feels this way? Probably not. But I'm willing to bet a lot of people are too afraid to admit it.
After all, who wants to be that person complaining about the fate of a fictional character in a dark fantasy anime? Me, apparently.
So, let's raise a glass (or maybe blow a whistle?) to Prushka. Gone too soon, but forever echoing in our hearts... and in Riko's backpack.
