Made In Abyss Movie Dawn Of The Deep Soul

Okay, picture this: you've got a giant hole in the earth, the Abyss, and it's filled with amazing creatures, crazy dangers, and a curse that messes you up as you climb back out. Sounds like a fun vacation spot, right?
Well, maybe not for us, but for Riko and Reg, the adventurous duo from Made in Abyss, it's home! And their latest adventure, "Dawn of the Deep Soul," takes the already wild ride to a whole new level of "what did I just watch?"
Deeper Down the Rabbit Hole (Literally!)
The movie picks up right after the first season, with Riko and Reg ready to descend to the fifth layer, the Sea of Corpses. Think spooky and smelly…and you're probably still underestimating it!
Must Read
To get there, they have to deal with Bondrewd, the Lord of Dawn. He's… a character. Let's just say he's not winning any Father of the Year awards, despite adopting a bunch of kids.
Bondrewd: The Mad Scientist With a Soft Spot (Maybe?)
Bondrewd is the kind of villain you love to hate. He is utterly bonkers, conducting ethically questionable experiments in the name of scientific advancement.

But here’s the kicker: he’s weirdly charismatic! It’s hard to explain, but he has this bizarre fatherly air about him, even while doing truly terrible things. It's unsettling, hilarious, and strangely captivating all at once.
Plus, he has a cool mask, which automatically makes him, like, 20% more interesting.

Nanachi's Struggle and a Fluffy New Friend
Our beloved Nanachi, the fluffy, bunny-like creature, is along for the ride too, and they get some serious screen time. Nanachi grapples with their past and their connection to Bondrewd, which is heavy stuff.
But don't worry, it's not all doom and gloom! We also get introduced to Prushka, a sweet and innocent little girl who becomes instantly attached to Riko.
Prushka is the ray of sunshine in this otherwise bleak landscape, and her relationship with Riko is genuinely heartwarming, even amidst the… you know… Abyss-related horrors.

Prepare for the Unexpected (and Maybe Some Tears)
"Dawn of the Deep Soul" is not for the faint of heart. Be prepared for body horror, emotional gut-punches, and scenes that will make you question your life choices.
Seriously, there are moments where you'll be watching through your fingers, muttering, "Why am I watching this?!" And then, a few minutes later, you'll be tearing up at the bond between Riko and Prushka.

It's a rollercoaster of emotions, but ultimately, it's a story about friendship, sacrifice, and the relentless pursuit of the unknown. Plus, the animation is gorgeous, even when it's depicting something truly terrifying.
So, if you're looking for an anime movie that will challenge you, surprise you, and maybe even make you a little uncomfortable, then dive into "Dawn of the Deep Soul." Just don't say I didn't warn you!
Just remember to bring tissues...and maybe a therapist's number.
