Lord Of The Rings The Two Towers Extended Edition
Okay, let's be honest. We all love Lord of the Rings. But does anyone else think the Extended Edition of The Two Towers is… a bit much?
The Entmoot: A Naptime Opportunity
The Ents! We love the Ents! They are tree-people!
But seriously, the Entmoot? It's long. Like, REALLY long. I swear, I almost learned to speak Entish during that scene.
Must Read
And don't even get me started on trying to stay awake during it. My couch has seen more action during the Entmoot than Rohan's plains saw during the Orc invasion.
Frodo's Feeling... a Lot
Poor Frodo. He's having a rough time. The Ring is heavy and Gollum is annoying.
The Extended Edition just gives us... more feeling. More angst. More Gollum.

I get it, he's suffering. We all suffer! But sometimes I wish he'd just hurry up and get to Mordor.
Eowyn's Stew: A Culinary Masterpiece?
Eowyn is amazing. She’s a shield maiden! She can fight!
But her stew? It looks... suspect. I'm pretty sure they used dish soap as an ingredient.
The extended scenes showing her making it are… lengthy. Maybe a shorter scene would have been better.

The Battle of Helm's Deep: More is... More?
Okay, I’ll admit it. The Battle of Helm's Deep is epic. Truly epic.
But the extended version is… even more epic? So many Orcs. So much fighting.
Sometimes, I feel like I'm watching a never-ending wave of bad guys get slaughtered. It’s a bit overwhelming. Do we really need more battering ram shots?

Gollum: The Extended Edition Star
Let's face it. Gollum steals the show. In every version.
The extended edition gives us more of his split personality. More "precious!" More creepy crawliness.
Is it too much? Maybe. Do I secretly love it? Probably. I can't help but feel fascinated by that wretch.
So, Is It Worth It?
Look, I’m not saying the Extended Edition is bad. It's just... long. Like, really long.

Sometimes, I just want to get to the point. To see the heroes triumph. To avoid stew with questionable ingredients.
Maybe I'm just impatient. Maybe I have a short attention span. Or maybe, just maybe, the theatrical cut was perfect all along. Don't @ me.
Perhaps I'm the only one who feels this way about The Two Towers Extended Edition.
I hope I'm not! What do you think?
