Legend Of Zelda Breath Of The Wild Special

Breath of the Wild: A Little Too Special?
Okay, gamers, let's talk Breath of the Wild. We all love it, right? Or… do we?
I'm about to say something potentially blasphemous. Prepare yourselves. It's... a tad overrated. Don't @ me!
The Open World... and its Empty Pockets
The world is HUGE. Like, seriously, you can get lost just trying to find a decent recipe.
Must Read
But is it all that interesting? Sometimes it feels like running across endless fields of… well, nothing. Is that a Korok Seed?
Sure, there are Korok Seeds. Nine hundred of them. I love collecting them!
Divine Beasts: More Like Divine Bores?
Okay, the Divine Beasts are cool, conceptually. Giant mechanical animals are pretty awesome.
But the dungeons themselves? A little repetitive, no? Walk in, rotate something, fight the boss.

The bosses are all based off Calamity Ganon. Just a thought, if you have to fight one boss several times, is it any special?
Weapon Durability: The Bane of My Existence
Weapons breaking. Need I say more? It's the single most complained about feature.
You find a cool sword, use it three times, and BAM! It's firewood. Just lovely.
I can't be the only one who hordes weapons instead of using them, right? Saving that precious Hylian Shield for a really special occasion.

The Story: A Little… Thin?
The story is there, somewhere. Buried under all the exploration and side quests.
Link lost his memory, Zelda is holding back Calamity Ganon. Got it. It's not Shakespeare, is it?
The characters are charming, I'll give you that. But I feel like they could be something more than they are.
The Hype Train: A Little Too Crowded?
Look, Breath of the Wild is a good game. A really good game.

But is it the perfect, flawless masterpiece that everyone makes it out to be? I'm not so sure. It can be a bit boring.
Maybe the hype train just got a little too crowded. I'm stepping off at the next stop, personally. Anyone want to join me?
The Champions' Ballad: A Chorus of More
While the main story might lack a little for some, the Champion's Ballad DLC gives us more insight into those characters!
Finally! Some depth! Some backstory! I can't be the only one who cheered a little when seeing more of the Champions.

Though... unlocking the Master Cycle Zero requires more work then getting my driver's liscense.
Final Thoughts: Still a Great Game… Just Maybe Not That Great
Don't get me wrong, I've sunk hours into Breath of the Wild.
It's beautiful, it's fun, and it's definitely a landmark title.
But let's be real. It has its flaws. And maybe, just maybe, we should acknowledge them. Now, back to finding those seeds.
Breath of the Wild is a lot of fun. Hopefully the sequel will be even better!
