Kirby And The Forgotten Land Co Op Characters

The Waddle Dee Dilemma: My Kirby Co-Op Confession
Okay, confession time! We all love Kirby and the Forgotten Land, right? It's adorable, it's fun, and you get to inhale cars. But let's talk about co-op.
Specifically, let's talk about player two: Bandana Waddle Dee.
He's Cute, But...
Don't get me wrong, Bandana Waddle Dee is precious. He's got a spear, he's got a bandana. He's basically Kirby's best bud.
Must Read
But, and this is a big but, is he really that fun to play as? I'm ready to voice an unpopular opinion.
Let's dive in.
The Spear Supremacy (Or Lack Thereof)
Bandana Waddle Dee's main weapon is his spear. It's…fine. He can poke, he can twirl, he can even do a little helicopter spin.

But compare that to Kirby's copy abilities! He can be a tornado, a drill, or even a vending machine spewing soda cans. It's not even a fair comparison.
Playing as Bandana Waddle Dee sometimes feels like bringing a spoon to a knife fight. Or maybe a toothpick to a monster truck rally.
Co-Op Chaos or Co-Op Carpool?
In co-op, one player is soaring through the skies as Kirby, transforming into a giant cone, while the other is… poking things with a spear.
It creates a weird dynamic. One person is the star, the other is… the supporting character who brought snacks.

I've ended up feeling like I'm just there to help Kirby reach high places. A cute, but slightly less powerful, stepping stool.
The "Helpful" Hindrance
I know, I know, Bandana Waddle Dee is supposed to be helpful. He's there to support Kirby, revive him, and generally be a good pal.
But sometimes, I feel like I'm hindering more than helping. My spear attacks aren't quite as effective, and I often end up getting in the way.

Especially when I accidentally spear Kirby right as he's about to inhale something awesome! Oops.
Embrace the Chaos, or Steal the Spotlight?
Maybe I'm just greedy! Maybe I want to be the one inhaling cars and turning into a roller coaster. I admit, the copy abilities look fun.
Perhaps the solution is to just trade off! Let Player Two have a turn with Kirby, and then switch back to the spear-wielding sidekick.
Or maybe the solution is to play solo, so you can hog all the copy abilities for yourself. (Don't tell my friends I said that!)

The Unpopular Verdict?
So, there you have it. My slightly controversial opinion on Bandana Waddle Dee.
He's adorable, he's helpful, but is he as fun to play as the ever-transforming Kirby? For me, the answer is a resounding… meh.
I still love playing Kirby and the Forgotten Land in co-op. Just, next time, maybe I'll call dibs on being Kirby first! Or suggest we play a different co-op game. Shhh!
