Kemono Michi Rise Up Episode 1 English Dubbed
Okay, let's talk about Kemono Michi: Rise Up. Specifically, episode one, dubbed in English. You know, that anime about a wrestler who really loves animals?
I have a confession. And it might be an unpopular opinion.
The Dub? I Kind Of... Liked It.
Yeah, I said it. I'm not usually a dub person. Give me subtitles any day!
Must Read
But something about the English dub of Kemono Michi just worked. Maybe it's the sheer absurdity of the show? Or maybe I was just in a weird mood. Who knows!
The Voices Fit So Well!
Seriously, whoever cast the dub deserves a raise. The voice actors nailed the over-the-top personalities.
Genzo Shibata's voice? Perfectly gruff and wrestling-esque. It's like they pulled a real wrestler straight out of the ring and stuck him in a recording booth. I mean, I don't know that's what happened. But I choose to believe it.
And Shigure? Don't even get me started. Her voice is wonderfully chaotic. It somehow manages to be both sweet and slightly unhinged. A perfect match for her character, wouldn't you agree?

Let's Be Real: It's Ridiculous
The whole premise of Kemono Michi is bonkers. A pro wrestler gets summoned to another world to defeat monsters.
But instead, he German Suplexes a princess and opens a pet shop. Like, what even is this show?
And the dub embraces that ridiculousness! It doesn't try to make the show sound sophisticated. Thank goodness for that!
The Humor Is On Point
Kemono Michi is funny, plain and simple. And the dub captures that perfectly.

The delivery of the jokes? Chef's kiss! The voice actors really sell the absurdity of the situations.
Especially when Genzo is screaming about wanting to pet a dog. It’s comedy gold, I tell you.
The Sub Is Probably Great Too... But
Look, I'm not saying the sub is bad. I haven't even watched it yet!
But the dub was so enjoyable. It feels like it was made with a real appreciation for the show's tone.

Maybe I'll check out the sub eventually. But for now? I'm sticking with the English dub of Kemono Michi episode 1.
Don't Judge Me!
Okay, okay, I know. Dubs aren't for everyone.
But sometimes, a dub just clicks. And for me, the Kemono Michi dub was one of those times.
So if you're looking for a laugh? Give it a try. You might be surprised. You might hate it. But at least you'll have an opinion!

Maybe you'll even agree with my unpopular opinion! Or not. Either way, happy watching!
Just don't tell the subtitle purists I said all this. They might come after me with pitchforks.
After all, we are talking about anime here.
And everyone knows how serious people are about anime.
