Karakai Jouzu No Moto Takagi San Manga

Okay, let's talk Takagi-san. Specifically, Karakai Jouzu no Moto Takagi-san. You know, the one about adult Nishikata and Takagi with their adorable daughter, Chi? I have a confession.

Here comes my unpopular opinion. Brace yourselves!

Is Moto Takagi-san...Overrated?

Don't get me wrong. It's cute. Super cute, even!

Seeing Nishikata finally married to Takagi is heartwarming. Chi is absolutely precious.

But...is it amazing? I'm not entirely convinced.

The Teasing Feels...Different

The original Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san had that perfect awkward charm. Nishikata's desperate attempts to outsmart Takagi? Hilarious!

Now? It's more like gentle ribbing. Understandable, since they're married. But some of the spark is gone, isn’t it?

Maybe I miss the sheer frustration on young Nishikata's face.

Chi is Cute, But...

Okay, Chi is undeniably adorable. Her interactions with her parents are sweet.

However, sometimes it feels like the story relies too much on her cuteness. Like, "Look! A cute kid being cute!"

While cute is good, I wish there was more substance beyond that.

Where's the Tension?

The original series had that will-they-won't-they tension. We all knew they would, but it was fun watching the journey.

Moto Takagi-san lacks that. They are together. The mystery is gone.

It's nice, but a little predictable. I kind of miss that original tension!

Am I Just Being Nostalgic?

Probably! I admit it. I might be biased towards the original Takagi-san manga.

There's something about young love and embarrassing moments. I can't help it.

Maybe I just prefer the chaotic energy of teenagers trying to navigate their feelings.

But hey, this is just my opinion! If you love Moto Takagi-san, that's perfectly fine!

I'm happy that Nishikata and Takagi found their happy ending.

It's just…maybe my expectations were too high. Or maybe I just miss the younger versions.
