Josee The Tiger And The Fish Watch

Okay, hear me out. We need to talk about something. Something important. Something... possibly controversial.
The Josee, the Tiger and the Fish Watch: An Unpopular Opinion?
Is it just me, or are we all slightly obsessed with Josee, the Tiger and the Fish? Like, seriously, obsessed.
The "Must-See" Status
Everyone says it's a masterpiece. A tearjerker. A story that will change your life. But... is it really all that?
Must Read
Don't get me wrong, it's a good movie! Visually stunning, for sure. But let's be honest, the hype is intense.
The Feels Factor
It's designed to make you cry. Like, scientifically engineered to extract tears. They pull at your heartstrings with the force of a thousand tiny, adorable kittens.
And it works! I admit, I teared up a little. But I also tear up during dog food commercials, so maybe I'm not the best judge.

The "Unproblematic" Label
Everyone hails it as this beacon of progressive romance. A celebration of differently-abled people finding love. Which is great!
But sometimes it feels a little... preachy? Like it's trying a bit too hard to be woke. Does anyone else feel this way?
The Overanalysis
The deep dives! Oh, the deep dives into symbolism and meaning. People are writing essays! Full-blown dissertations!

I appreciate the artistry, I really do. But sometimes I just want to watch a movie and not feel like I'm missing a secret code hidden in the seaweed.
Is It Just Me?
Am I the only one who thinks the tiger is slightly underutilized? I mean, it's in the title! I wanted more tiger action! (Metaphorical or otherwise.)
Maybe I'm just a cynical grump. A heartless monster who can't appreciate beautiful animation and touching stories. But... I have my doubts.
The Alternative View
Look, I appreciate Josee, the Tiger and the Fish for what it is: A sweet, visually appealing anime film. But maybe, just maybe, we can all dial down the praise a notch?

Maybe we can acknowledge its flaws. Maybe we can admit that it's not the perfect cinematic experience everyone claims it to be. Maybe?
Let's Talk About Reality
It's okay to like things! It's also okay to not be completely blown away by something everyone else is raving about.
Let's bring back the joy of having different opinions. Let's embrace the freedom to say, "Yeah, it was good, but not life-changing."

Perhaps the biggest crime is overpraising a movie to the point that nobody can enjoy it at all.
The Verdict
So, here's my slightly heretical opinion: Josee, the Tiger and the Fish is good. Very good, even. But it's not the second coming of anime.
And that's okay! Let's all just relax, enjoy the movie, and maybe... just maybe... give the tiger a little more screen time in the sequel?
What are your thoughts? Please let me know if you agree with my (possibly unpopular) opinion.
