Is This The Last Season Of Curb Your Enthusiasm

Is This Really It For Larry? Pretty, pretty...doubtful.
Okay, let's be honest. We've all heard the rumors. This season of Curb Your Enthusiasm is supposedly the last season. But do we really believe it?
I'm going to go out on a limb here. I'm calling shenanigans. Just total, utter shenanigans.
The "Last Season" Hoax
This isn't the first time we've been down this road, right? Remember season eight? Everyone thought Larry David was retiring to Paris.
Must Read
Then, poof! Season nine appears like magic. Suddenly, Larry's back, causing mayhem and awkward situations. What gives?
It's like the boy who cried wolf, but instead of a wolf, it's a neurotic millionaire. And we keep falling for it.
Why I Think He'll Be Back (Against My Better Judgement)
First off, Larry David clearly enjoys making Curb. He gets to rant, complain, and be his curmudgeonly self. Who wouldn't want that job?

Plus, the show is hilarious. It's consistently funny, even after all these years. Why would he give up such a good thing?
Second, think about the money. Curb Your Enthusiasm is a massive hit for HBO. I doubt they are eager to cancel a cash cow.
HBO will keep throwing money at Larry until he physically can't leave his house. He'll have to be wheel-chaired into the writer's room.

The "Curb" Cycle of Life
Here's my prediction. This season will end with some sort of semi-resolution. Something like Larry finally finding happiness (briefly) or moving to another country.
Then, a year or two will pass. We'll all start to miss the show. We'll crave the awkwardness.
And then...BAM! A new season. Larry will be back, complaining about something ridiculous. Like noisy neighbors or the price of organic grapefruit.

My Unpopular Opinion
So, here's my unpopular opinion: I don't want this to be the last season. Even though I'm sure I'll complain about some of the jokes or the storylines.
I need Larry David in my life. I need his brand of social awkwardness. It makes me feel...normal.
Am I alone in this? Or are you secretly hoping for another season of Curb Your Enthusiasm, too?

"Pretty, pretty, pretty good." - Larry David (probably about another season)
The Real Reason We Can't Let Go
Maybe the real reason we don't want Curb to end is because it's relatable. We've all had those awkward encounters. We've all wanted to say something we shouldn't.
Larry just says it for us. And that's why we keep coming back for more. Even if we hate to admit it.
So, HBO, if you're reading this, please give us another season. We'll even tolerate the Susie Greene screaming matches.
Just kidding, Susie. Mostly. Maybe.
