It had cool costumes and some decent action. But, honestly, did it truly capture the pure, unadulterated joy of the original?

The movie didn't exactly set the box office on fire. Which is a shame!
Studios look at numbers, plain and simple. So, its lukewarm reception definitely cooled down sequel talks.

Now, Hasbro owns the Power Rangers. They're a toy-making behemoth. And they know how to milk a franchise!

Part of the Power Rangers' appeal was its glorious, unashamed cheesiness. The rubber monsters! The over-the-top acting!
The ridiculously catchy theme song! That's what made it fun!
Trying to make it "dark and gritty" kind of misses the point, doesn't it?
What I'd Actually Like to See
If we do get another movie, here's what I'm hoping for:
- Embrace the silliness. Go full-on, joyful ridiculousness!
- Bring back some classic villains. Give us a Rita Repulsa that isn't afraid to be campy!
- Don't forget the teamwork aspect. The Rangers are stronger together!
The Future is...Morphin?
So, will there be another Power Rangers movie? Maybe. Probably, eventually.
Hollywood loves a good reboot. And Power Rangers is a property with built-in nostalgia. It has tons of cool megazords and vehicles to replicate into toys.
Let's just hope that if it happens, it remembers what made the Power Rangers so special in the first place. Go go Power Rangers!
