Is The 100 Year Quest Going To Be Animated

Let's talk The 100 Year Quest. You know, the manga by Atsushi Ohkubo, the genius behind Soul Eater and Fire Force? It's pretty good. The art is amazing.
Will It Ever Be Animated?
That's the million-dollar question, isn't it? We're all sitting here, patiently (or impatiently) waiting. But the real question is: should it be?
I know, I know. Blasphemy! How could anyone not want to see this awesome manga in glorious anime form? Prepare yourselves, friends. I have a confession. I'm not convinced it needs to be animated.

Hear Me Out!
Animation is expensive. It takes time and effort. Plus, does every manga need an anime adaptation? Maybe, just maybe, some things are perfect as they are.
The 100 Year Quest is a sequel to Soul Eater. The original anime... well, it took some liberties. Okay, a lot of liberties. Remember that ending? Some loved it, some hated it.
The manga ending, though? Chef's kiss! So, the sequel continuing the manga canon is really appealing. The thought of another potentially divergent anime ending gives me pause.

Plus, the art is gorgeous. Ohkubo-sensei's style is just so unique and dynamic. Can an anime truly capture that level of detail and expressiveness? It's a tough ask.
Think about other manga that were just amazing because of the art style like Berserk or Vagabond. No anime adaptation has been as praised as the manga.
We've seen anime adaptations fall short before. Remember the hype? The disappointment? Let's not set ourselves up for that again!

Of course, a good adaptation could be incredible. Imagine the fight scenes! The magic! The quirky characters brought to life with voice acting! I get the appeal.
My Unpopular Opinion (Brace Yourselves)
Here it is: I'd rather have more manga chapters. More story. More gorgeous artwork. I'd rather have Ohkubo-sensei focusing on finishing the manga strong. Instead of worrying about anime adaptation headaches.
Is that selfish? Maybe. But hey, I'm allowed to have an opinion, right? Don't get me wrong, if a studio announced a high-quality adaptation, I'd probably watch it. I'd be cautiously optimistic.
But I wouldn't be devastated if it never happened. Some stories are best told in black and white. Some art sings loudest on the printed page.

And frankly, I'm a little tired of every single popular manga getting an anime. Let some things remain special and unique. Let's appreciate the original medium!
Maybe this is just me being a grumpy manga purist. Maybe I'm completely wrong. But I'm putting it out there.
So, what do you think? Am I crazy? Do you desperately want an anime adaptation? Or are you with me, happy with the manga as it is?

Let me know! Sound off in the comments (if this were a real article with comments). Let the debate begin!
Ultimately, the decision isn't up to us. It's up to the powers that be. But that doesn't mean we can't have a little fun speculating. And maybe, just maybe, influencing the universe with our collective will.
So, whether or not The 100 Year Quest gets animated, I'll keep reading the manga. And I'll keep enjoying the ride. Thanks, Ohkubo-sensei!
And remember, "A sound soul dwells within a sound mind and a sound body!"
