Is Ed In Cowboy Bebop Live Action

Okay, let's talk Cowboy Bebop live-action. We all remember it, right? Good times... debatable times.
The Ed Question
But there's one question that keeps bugging me, more than the bad wigs and the weird pacing. Where's Ed?
Everyone complained about the lack of our favorite radical Edward. But... maybe, just maybe, Ed was there. In spirit, at least.

Hear Me Out!
This is where things might get controversial. Prepare yourselves. Deep breaths.
Remember Radical Edward? Genius hacker, quirky personality, basically a walking, talking, data-surfing explosion of chaos. Think carefully.
Now, think about some of the choices they made in the live-action. Remember all the choices?
Some were... interesting, to say the least. They definitely changed some things, shall we say. They changed some personalities for example.

What if, instead of giving us a direct Ed adaptation, they spread Ed's essence around? Like, sprinkled it like fairy dust.
Think about the hacker kid they introduced. The one helping Vicious. I think its name was Ratty.
Ratty had the hacking skills. Ratty had the oddball energy. Ratty had the complete lack of social awareness. Sound familiar?
Okay, okay, Ratty was way more angsty than Ed. Ed was pure, unadulterated sunshine. Ratty was more like a solar flare of teenage angst.
But the seeds were there! The hacking prowess! The general weirdness!

Maybe the writers thought a direct Ed would be too… much? Too difficult to translate to live-action? Maybe.
So, they decided to dilute Ed. Spread the Ed-ness around. A little bit in Ratty, a little bit in some other random tech moments.
It's a stretch, I know. I'm not saying it's a good decision. I'm just saying it's a possible one.
What if the producers and writers thought that Ed could not be brought to life without being too caricature.

The Unpopular Opinion Corner
Here's where I plant my flag. This is my controversial hill to die on.
I believe that the spirit of Ed was present in the live-action, just… fragmented. Dispersed. Like a shattered kaleidoscope.
Did they succeed in capturing Ed's true essence? Absolutely not. Did they even try? Maybe not!
But I can squint, tilt my head, and kinda-sorta see glimpses of that chaotic energy. Like finding a single, shiny bead from a broken necklace.
I'm not saying it's what we wanted. We wanted a full-blown, unadulterated Ed. We deserved a full-blown, unadulterated Ed!

I am suggesting that they might have thought, somewhere in the back of their minds, "Let's just sprinkle some Ed dust here and there."
So, is Ed in the Cowboy Bebop live-action? Officially? No. In my slightly delusional, headcanon-fueled heart? Maybe... just maybe.
Think of this:
“See you space cowboy...”and in a very low whisper “…maybe in spirit.”
Don't hate me. Just... consider the possibility.
Or, you know, completely disagree. That's cool too. We can still be friends. Space cowboy (or cowgirl) solidarity.
