Is All My Life Based On A True Story

Ever feel like your life is just…too perfectly scripted? Like a movie you've seen a million times?

I have this sneaking suspicion. Maybe, just maybe, my life is actually a "based on a true story" film.

Exhibit A: The Meet-Cute

Think about it. Remember that time you tripped over your own feet, spilling coffee all over that attractive stranger? Classic rom-com fodder.

Now, I know what you're thinking. "That was just clumsy luck!" But what if it wasn't? What if it was carefully orchestrated by a team of writers for maximum comedic (and romantic) effect?

My "meet-cute" involved a rogue shopping cart and a very surprised produce manager. The jury's still out on whether that's heartwarming or just plain embarrassing.

Supporting Evidence: The Quirky Best Friend

Every good "based on a true story" needs a quirky best friend. You know, the one who dispenses questionable advice and provides comic relief.

I definitely have one of those. We'll call her Brenda. Brenda once suggested I solve all my problems by moving to a goat farm in Vermont. Need I say more?

Or maybe the whole "my life is a movie" theory is just a coping mechanism. Who knows? I'm just the actor in this supposed "true" story.

Have you ever noticed how certain songs seem to play at exactly the right moment? When you're feeling particularly introspective? Or triumphantly overcoming an obstacle?

That's the soundtrack, people! The subtle background music designed to tug at your heartstrings and tell you how to feel.

Just last week, a particularly poignant piano melody swelled as I successfully parallel parked on my first try. Coincidence? I think not!

Is it all real? Probably not. Is it entertaining to pretend? Absolutely.
