Iconic Female Character Voiced By Mae Whitman
Okay, let’s talk about Mae Whitman. You know, the voice behind some seriously iconic characters?
Seriously, she’s been in everything. Ever wonder, where did you know her voice?
But Which Character Reigns Supreme?
Now, I have a confession. This might be an unpopular opinion.
Must Read
Brace yourselves.
Tinker Bell: A Sweet Start?
Lots of people love Tinker Bell. She's feisty and adorable, right?
Whitman took over as her voice for the Disney fairies franchise. A pretty big deal!
But honestly? I think there are better characters.
April O'Neil: Turtle Power!
Next up: April O'Neil from the 2012 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series.

This April was smart and brave. She was a total asset to the turtles.
Definitely a fun role, but still not my top pick.
Wonder Girl (Cassie Sandsmark): A Super Choice
For DC fans, Whitman voiced Wonder Girl! She brought that teenage angst and superhero energy to the role.
Seriously, she rocks. Wonder Girl has such a great personality!
Still, I’m sorry. Someone tops this list.

And the Winner Is… Ann Veal!
Yep, I said it. My favorite Mae Whitman character is Ann Veal from Arrested Development. Or as some may say, Egg?
Okay, hear me out!
I know, I know. Ann is… well, she’s Ann. Bland is an understatement, right?
But that's the genius of it! Her complete lack of personality is what makes her hilarious. Michael Cera calling her Egg?
And Whitman plays it perfectly. Every line delivery, every blank stare – it’s comedy gold.

Like when she's trying to be cool in the model home? Or when George Michael is just trying to distance himself? Amazing.
Think about it. Would Ann Veal be as iconic without Whitman's voice?
I rest my case.
Why Ann Veal? Really?
Maybe it's the contrast. Whitman has voiced so many strong, confident characters.
Then she plays Ann. A character with zero confidence, and that's what she nails. Masterful.

It shows her range as a voice actor. She truly can do it all.
And, let's be honest, the running gags about Ann are some of the funniest moments in Arrested Development. The jokes write themselves!
So, yes, I'm standing by my unpopular opinion.
Mae Whitman's best role is Ann Veal. Don't @ me.
What do you think? Am I totally off base? Or do you secretly agree with me?
Let’s discuss!
