I think it's hilarious. And maybe...just maybe...a little telling. I mean, action figures are cool and all, but a historically-accurate-sort-of, alternate-history Shogun's harem? Interesting choice, kiddo. I'm not complaining!
He devours those pages. He talks about the characters with such enthusiasm. Is this just a historical interest, or is something else going on? It is a fascinating story. But still!
His dad’s convinced it's just the art style. "Look at those kimonos!" he says, completely missing the point. My husband is such a sweet summer child.
Meanwhile, I'm over here analyzing every little detail. His online search history, his choice of anime soundtracks, the way he dramatically sighs when he reads a particularly poignant panel. It's a goldmine!
Maybe I'm reading too much into it. Maybe he just likes a good story with dramatic twists and turns. But, come on!

Honestly, whether he's into boys, girls, or prefers the company of expertly drawn Edo-period eunuchs, I'm good. We’re very open minded!
We just want him to be happy and healthy. And maybe give us some insight into the Okura Manga plotlines. It's getting confusing.
