I Pay For No Ads On Hulu And Still Have

Okay, hear me out. I might be a little crazy. Maybe I'm living in an alternate reality.
But I pay for no ads on Hulu. And I still have ads.
The Great Hulu Conspiracy (Maybe?)
Is this just me? Am I the only one experiencing this digital anomaly? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills!
Must Read
I signed up for the premium, the uninterrupted viewing experience. I forked over the extra cash. Freedom from commercials was promised.
And yet... there they are. Mocking me. Selling me things I don't need.
A Commercial Breakdown
It's not the full-blown, network TV onslaught. I'll give them that. It's more like "ad-lite."
But it's still ads! Short clips promoting other Hulu shows. Or maybe a reminder that I can upgrade even further. Upgrade from... ad-free?

The irony is thicker than the plot of a daytime soap opera.
I understand the need for promotion. Cross-promotion is a thing. I get it.
But I'm paying not to be marketed to. Isn't that the point?
My Unpopular Opinion (Probably)
Maybe I'm being dramatic. Perhaps I'm overly sensitive to the interruption.
But these little promotional snippets? They grate on my nerves.

I'm trying to lose myself in a show. To escape reality for a precious thirty minutes.
Then BAM! "Watch The Handmaid's Tale! It's super depressing, just like the real world!"
Thanks, Hulu. Way to kill the vibe.
A Slippery Slope?
Where does it end? Will they start showing car commercials next?

Will I be subjected to political ads during my binge-watching sessions? I shudder at the thought.
I fear we're on a slippery slope, my friends. A slope paved with good intentions and misleading advertising.
I’m starting to wonder, do I need to pay even MORE for truly no ads?
In Conclusion (Sort Of)
Look, I'm not cancelling my subscription just yet. Hulu has some good stuff.
But I'm putting them on notice. These "ads" better not get any more frequent.

Because if they do, I might just have to switch to DVDs. Or, gasp, read a book!
Okay, maybe not. But the threat is there.
So, am I alone in this? Do others feel my pain? Or am I just destined to live in a world where "ad-free" means "slightly fewer ads"?
Let me know your thoughts! Misery loves company. (Especially company that isn't trying to sell me something.)
I demand truly no ads, Hulu. Is that too much to ask? Probably.
