I Know My First Name Is Steven Episodes

Okay, let's talk Steven Universe. Specifically, the "I Am My Mom" arc.
We all love it, right? The feels, the drama, Steven's emotional journey. But let's be honest, some episodes are...better than others.
The "I Am My Mom" Arc: A Playful Look
This is where Steven really starts grappling with Rose Quartz's legacy. And boy, is it a doozy!
Must Read
Hit Episodes That We All Love
"Mindful Education" is amazing. Garnet's singing, Stevonnie's struggle, it's perfect. A truly great episode in animation history!
"Storm in the Room" is another gem. Steven finally gets to talk to his mom. A little too late, but it’s alright!
The Episodes That Are...Fine
Then there are the episodes that are… fine. They're not bad, but they don't exactly set the world on fire.

Like, did we really need the extended trial sequence with the Zircons in "The Trial"? It was alright, just a little too long!
The show is at its best when it focuses on character development. Not filler content.
My Unpopular Opinion
Here it comes. My possibly controversial take. Buckle up.

I think "Off Colors" is kinda overrated. Yeah, the Rutile Twins are cute, and Rhodonite is anxious. But the Padparadscha jokes get old fast.
I get it, she's always late with her predictions. But it's the same joke over and over!
Don't get me wrong, the episode isn't bad. But compared to the other emotional gut-punches of the arc, it's just… there. We see the Diamonds’ control in the Gem society.
The Diamonds: Love Them or Hate Them?
Speaking of Diamonds, let's talk about them! They're terrifying, powerful, and surprisingly… relatable?

Okay, maybe not relatable. But they're definitely complex characters. Their grief is a major factor.
Yellow Diamond's song is pretty good too. No wonder why it is one of the most iconic scenes for the show.
Overall: A Great Arc, With a Few Bumps
The "I Am My Mom" arc is still amazing. A high point in the series!

It has some amazing moments, and it's essential to understanding Steven's journey.
But not every episode is a masterpiece. Some are just… diamonds in the rough. Or, maybe, some are less shiny quartz.
"I'm not saying those episodes are terrible. I'm just saying...I might skip them on a rewatch. Unless I'm doing a complete rewatch."
So, what do you think? Am I totally wrong about "Off Colors"? Let me know! Let's argue politely about cartoon episodes.
Because that's what the internet is for, right? Agreeing to disagree about Steven Universe!
