How To Transmog Warglaives Of Azzinoth

Okay, so picture this: Me, fresh-faced warrior back in 2007, running Black Temple for the tenth time. All I wanted was that sweet, sweet Warglaive drop. I mean, who didn't want to look like Illidan Stormrage? Spoiler alert: didn't get 'em. Cried a little. Maybe. But hey, fast forward to now, and while I still don't have those OG Glaives on that character (sad trombone), I can at least transmog them on someone else. And you can too! That’s what we’re diving into – how to finally wield those bad boys, visually at least.
So, you're drooling over the thought of sporting those iconic Warglaives of Azzinoth? Understandable. They scream "I’m powerful" and "I defeated Illidan (sort of)." Here's the lowdown on how to actually get them onto your character for transmog.
The Hard Part: Getting the Actual Warglaives
Let's get the painful part out of the way first. To even think about transmogging these legendary blades, you need to actually own them. Yes, both the Main Hand and Off Hand Warglaive of Azzinoth. This means venturing back to Black Temple (located in Outland's Shadowmoon Valley) and praying to the RNG gods that Illidan is feeling generous. And by generous, I mean willing to part with weapons he's been clinging to for thousands of years. Good luck with that!
Must Read
Seriously, though, Black Temple is easily soloable at level 70, if you have some good gear. Get yourself a party of some of your friends, and give it a shot. Be sure to bring all your characters who are eligible to wield the glaives.
Important Note: Only characters who can wield Warglaives (Demon Hunters, Warriors, Rogues, Monks, and Death Knights) can loot them. No point bringing your priest along on this adventure. Unless you need the healing, obviously.

The (Slightly) Less Hard Part: The "Did Someone Say [Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker]?" Achievement
Alright, so you’ve managed to pry both Warglaives from Illidan's cold, dead hands (or spectral hands, whatever). Congrats! Now comes the second hurdle: the "I’ll Hold These For You Until You Get Out" achievement. To earn this, you need to complete the Timewalking version of Black Temple.
Black Temple Timewalking is not always available. Keep an eye on the in-game calendar to see when the Outland Timewalking event is active. During this event, you can queue up for a scaled-down version of Black Temple via the Group Finder (Premade Groups -> Dungeons -> Timewalking). It is also an excellent way to gear alts!

Once inside, you'll need to defeat Illidan again. Except this time, he’s a bit squishier. After he’s down, you’ll automatically get the achievement. Remember, you need to have both Warglaives in your inventory or bank for the achievement to unlock. Stashed in your Void Storage? No dice. Put them on your wall in your Garrison? Nope! You have to physically possess them. If you don't have them, that's okay! Just run Black Temple again.
Transmog Time!
Finally! The moment you've been waiting for. With the Warglaives in your possession and the achievement under your belt, you can now transmog other weapons into the glorious Warglaives of Azzinoth. Just head to a transmogrifier (every major city has one), and the Warglaives will be available as transmog options for your Demon Hunter. That's right, this is only for Demon Hunters. Sorry other classes, Blizzard decided to gatekeep this look.

Important Tip: The Warglaives of Azzinoth will now be available in the Appearances tab in your Collections.
And there you have it! A (hopefully) painless guide to transmogging the Warglaives of Azzinoth. Now go forth and terrorize Azeroth with your newfound Illidan cosplay skills. Just try not to brood too much. No one likes a brooding Demon Hunter… except maybe other brooding Demon Hunters.
Enjoy your transmog and happy hunting!
