How To Sign Out Of Gmail On Safari Mac

Okay, let's be honest. Figuring out tech sometimes feels like solving a Rubik's Cube blindfolded. Especially when all you want to do is... sign out.
Today's adventure? Escaping the clutches of Gmail on Safari, on your trusty Mac.
The Great Gmail Escape: A Safari Saga
First, fire up Safari. Because, duh. It wouldn't be much of a Safari saga without it, right?
Must Read
Hunting for the Gmail Lair
Head over to Gmail. You know, where all those important (and not-so-important) emails live.
Now, look for your profile picture. It's usually in the top right corner. Unless, of course, you've chosen a funky avatar. In which case, look for the funky thing in the top right.
The Clickening
Click that picture or funky avatar. A little menu should pop down like magic.
Scroll down, almost to the bottom. You should see the words "Sign out" or "Sign out of all accounts".
Now, here's my unpopular opinion: Why isn't this button bigger? Like, billboard-sized? It would save us all so much time!

Click it! That's the golden ticket to freedom... from Gmail, at least, for now.
Uh Oh, Still Logged In? The "Multiple Account" Mystery
Sometimes, even after signing out, Gmail lingers. Like that one guest who just won't leave the party.
This usually happens if you have multiple Google accounts logged in.
Don't panic! We have a plan.
The Multi-Account Maneuver
Repeat the steps above. Click your profile picture.

Instead of just "Sign out," look for "Sign out of all accounts." It might be hiding near the bottom. Click it!
This usually does the trick. It kicks all those lurking accounts out into the digital wilderness.
Cache is King... or Maybe the Enemy?
Still no luck? Okay, let's get a little more...aggressive. We're going to clear your browser's cache.
Go to Safari's menu. It's at the very top of your screen.
Click "Safari" then "Preferences".

Go to the "Advanced" tab. Make sure "Show Develop menu in menu bar" is checked.
Now, in the menu bar at the very top, you should see "Develop". Click it. Then click "Empty Caches".
This is basically like giving your browser a good spring cleaning. It gets rid of all the temporary files that might be causing the problem.
Close Safari, then reopen it and try again. Hopefully, Gmail is finally gone!
The Unpopular Opinion Returns
Seriously though, why do they make it so complicated? Is Google secretly trying to keep us trapped in their email vortex?

Maybe I'm just paranoid. But I still think the "Sign Out" button should be bigger. And maybe have flashing lights. And a marching band.
Okay, maybe not the marching band. But definitely bigger!
Victory! (Hopefully)
Congratulations! You've successfully navigated the treacherous waters of signing out of Gmail on Safari.
Go forth and enjoy your newfound digital freedom! Until the next time you need to sign out, that is.
And remember, if all else fails, just blame the cache. It's always the cache's fault.
