How To Get Ribbons In Pokemon Violet

How To Get Ribbons In Pokemon Violet

Alright, settle in, folks! Grab your Lechonk-shaped pastries and listen up, because we're about to dive headfirst into the glamorous, slightly confusing, and utterly adorable world of Pokémon ribbons in Pokémon Violet. You see those little badges of honor? Yeah, those are ribbons, and they're basically the equivalent of giving your Pokémon a participation trophy for being ridiculously awesome (or, you know, surviving a particularly brutal battle against a Tinkaton wielding a giant hammer).

Now, why would you want these ribbons? Well, besides bragging rights and making your Pokémon look like a decorated war hero (minus the actual war part, hopefully), ribbons add a certain je ne sais quoi to your team. It's like putting a tiny, virtual top hat on your Sprigatito. Who doesn't want that?

Step 1: Understanding the Ribbon Rainbow

First, a quick Ribbons 101. Pokémon Violet isn't exactly throwing ribbons at you like confetti at a Pikachu convention. You gotta work for 'em! They are earned by completing certain tasks or achieving specific milestones. Think of it as Pokémon Olympics, but with less sweat and more existential dread when your favorite 'mon faints for the fifth time in a row.

There's a whole bunch of ribbons, each with its own criteria. Some are easy, like the Effort Ribbon, which you get for maxing out your Pokémon's Effort Values (EVs). Others, like the Champion Ribbon, require you to, well, you know... become the freaking Champion of Paldea. No pressure!

Step 2: The Effort Ribbon - The Easiest of the Bunch!

Let's start with the Effort Ribbon. Consider this your gateway ribbon, the "Welcome to the Ribbon Club" badge. To snag this, you need to max out your Pokémon's EVs. Now, don't run away screaming just yet! EVs sound scary, but they're basically just hidden stats that improve your Pokémon's overall performance. Think of them as performance-enhancing... berries!

You can max out EVs by battling specific Pokémon that give certain EV points, or, the easier way, by feeding your Pokémon vitamins like Protein, Iron, Calcium, etc. You can buy these from Chansey Supply stores scattered around Paldea. Just pump your Pokemon full of these vitamins. Be careful though, as they can only eat so much! Once you can't feed them anymore, you are ready for the next step.

Once you feel like you're done, head to Montenevera. This is where the Ribbon Syndicate lady lives and she will let you know if you've reached the limit!

Step 3: Champion Ribbon - For the True Ballers

Alright, if you want the Champion Ribbon, prepare for a slightly tougher challenge. Slightly. All you have to do is... become the Champion of the Paldea Region. Simple, right? This involves defeating all eight Gym Leaders, challenging the Elite Four, and then facing off against the current Champion, Geeta. If you've already done that, then congratulations, you're one ribbon richer!

If not, well, better get to training, my friend. Stock up on Potions, Revives, and maybe a good therapist for your Pokémon. You're gonna need 'em.

Step 4: Getting Ribbons from Other Games (A Time Machine Optional)

Here's a fun fact that'll either thrill you or make you question your life choices: Some ribbons can only be obtained by transferring Pokémon from older games. Yes, we're talking about Pokémon Home, the cloud service that lets you move your digital monsters across generations.

So, if you have a particularly awesome Pokémon from, say, Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield, with a whole bunch of ribbons, you can transfer it to Pokémon Violet and show off its impressive collection. It's like bringing a seasoned veteran to a rookie game.

However, this also means that if you don't have those older games, you're out of luck. Unless... you invent a time machine! Then you could travel back, buy the games, and snag those ribbons! Just kidding... mostly.

Step 5: Showing Off Your Ribbon-Adorned Pokémon

Finally, the most important step: showing off your ribbon-covered Pokémon to everyone you know. Strut around in the Union Circle, flexing your dedication and hard work. Be warned, though, you might attract some envious glares from less ribbon-fortunate trainers. It's a heavy burden, being this awesome, but I believe in you.

And that, my friends, is how you get ribbons in Pokémon Violet. It's a journey of training, battling, and a whole lot of strategically-placed berries. Now go forth, collect those ribbons, and make your Pokémon the envy of Paldea!

Just remember, the most important ribbon is the one you earn with your heart. Or, you know, by strategically exploiting the game mechanics. Whatever works!
