How To Get Liar's Handshake Destiny 2 2022

Okay, so picture this: I'm in the Crucible, right? Getting absolutely hammered. Like, the kind of hammered where you're pretty sure the other team is just collectively farming you for Iron Banner tokens. I was running my usual, somewhat-reliable Titan build, feeling like a space rhino made of wet tissue paper. Then this Hunter shows up. Suddenly, he’s everywhere. Punching dudes, vanishing, punching more dudes. He was an absolute menace. I respawned just to get punched by him again. It was glorious and utterly infuriating. I inspected him afterwards (because, let’s be honest, I had to see what kind of unholy power he was wielding), and there it was: Liar's Handshake.
Immediately, my brain went into overdrive. "I NEED THIS," I screamed (internally, of course... mostly). So, how do you get your hands on this piece of Exotic, face-punching paradise? That's what we're here to discuss!
Liar's Handshake: The Basics
Liar's Handshake is an Exotic Hunter gauntlet. Its Exotic perk, Cross Counter, is what makes it so potent. In short, after using your Arc melee ability or being hit by a melee attack, you gain a period of greatly increased melee damage. More importantly, you're invisible while you’re chaining punches. Yes, invisibility! And yes, more damage! (Side note: it makes a REALLY satisfying thwack sound when you connect a supercharged punch.)
Must Read
Think of it as the ultimate "get off me" weapon for Hunters who like to get up close and personal. Or, you know, for Hunters who just want to punch everything. I judge neither.
So, How Do I Get It?
Alright, here's the nitty-gritty. Unlike some Exotics, Liar's Handshake isn’t tied to any specific quest. No annoying fetch quests, no complicated puzzles... just pure, unadulterated RNG (Random Number Generator) fun!

There are three primary ways to acquire Liar's Handshake:
- Legend/Master Lost Sectors (Solo): These are your best bet, especially when the daily Lost Sector is rewarding gauntlets. The drop rate for Exotics is significantly higher in these activities, but be warned: they can be challenging. You need to be solo, and you need to be prepared to die. A lot. Trust me.
- Exotic Engrams: These little golden nuggets of hope can drop from pretty much anywhere in the game, from playlist activities like Strikes and Crucible to defeating powerful enemies. The odds are low, but it can happen. (I once got one from a Public Event... don't hate me.)
- Xûr, Agent of the Nine: Our favorite tentacle-faced vendor occasionally sells Exotic armor. If you’re lucky, Liar's Handshake might be on his inventory. He appears every Friday at the Tower (or occasionally the Hangar) and leaves with the weekly reset. Check him out every week!
Important Note: For Legend/Master Lost Sectors, you need to own the relevant expansion content (currently Shadowkeep) for the gauntlets to drop from the Legend/Master Lost Sectors. This goes for pretty much all armor-specific Exotics.

Tips for Farming Those Gauntlets
Okay, so you're ready to dive into the world of solo Lost Sectors. Here are a few tips to make the process less... soul-crushing:
- Level Up: Make sure you’re at or above the recommended power level for the Lost Sector. Seriously. Trying to solo it underleveled is just asking for a bad time.
- Mod Up: Equip armor mods that will help you survive. Resilience is your friend. So are mods that reduce incoming damage from specific enemy types.
- Weapon Choices: Bring weapons that are effective against the champions in the Lost Sector. Overload, Unstoppable, and Barrier champions require specific weapon mods to deal with effectively. Don't be that guy who tries to punch an Unstoppable champion into oblivion.
- Patience, Young Padawan: The drop rate is RNG. You might get Liar's Handshake on your first run. Or your tenth. Or your fiftieth. Don't give up! (Easier said than done, I know.)
Honestly, farming for Exotics can be a bit of a grind. But trust me, the feeling of finally getting that coveted piece of gear is worth it. Especially when that gear lets you punch things into oblivion with stylish invisibility.
Good luck, Guardians! Go forth and punch some faces!
