How To Get Disney Plus On Vizio Smart Tv

Okay, let's talk Disney Plus. We all want it. Especially if you have, you know, kids (or are secretly a kid at heart like yours truly).
And you have a Vizio smart TV. Cool! High five! But...where's the dang Disney Plus button?
The Great Vizio & Disney Plus Caper
Sometimes, things aren't as simple as they should be. Like folding fitted sheets. Or understanding why pineapple on pizza is even a debate. And, apparently, getting Disney Plus on your Vizio.
Must Read
So, here's the deal. Most newer Vizio smart TVs already have Disney Plus baked right in. Consider yourself lucky if that's you!
Option 1: The "It's Already There!" Dance
First, turn on your TV. I know, groundbreaking advice. Head to the Vizio SmartCast home screen.
Look for the Disney Plus icon. It might be lurking amongst the other apps. You might even have to scroll. It is a jungle out there!
Found it? Great! Click it. Log in. And prepare for a marathon of The Mandalorian. May the Force (and working apps) be with you.

Option 2: The App Store Scavenger Hunt
Didn't see it? Don't panic. It's app store time! Most Vizio TVs use SmartCast. This is where you find all your streaming goodies.
Look for an icon that says "App Store" or "Vizio Apps". Something along those lines. Navigate to it using your remote.
Now, search for Disney Plus. Use the on-screen keyboard. Try not to accidentally type in "Disnee Pluz."
Once you find it, select "Install" or "Add App." Your TV will download and install Disney Plus. This might take a minute. Time to make popcorn?

Option 3: The Casting Call
Older Vizio TV? This is where it gets interesting. Some older models don't have a dedicated Disney Plus app. Dun, dun, duuuuun! But, don't fret.
If your phone or tablet has Disney Plus, look for the "Cast" icon. It looks like a little rectangle with a Wi-Fi symbol.
Make sure both your TV and your phone/tablet are on the same Wi-Fi network. Then, select your Vizio TV from the list of available devices.
Voila! Disney Plus should now be playing on your TV. It's like magic! Slightly clunky magic, but magic nonetheless.

Option 4: The External Savior
Still no luck? Okay, time for Plan Z. You can buy an external streaming device. Think Roku, Amazon Fire Stick, or Apple TV.
Plug it into your TV. Connect it to Wi-Fi. Download Disney Plus on the device. Boom! Problem solved (hopefully).
I know, it's annoying to have to buy another gadget. But hey, at least you can finally watch all those Marvel movies. Prioritize!
My Unpopular Opinion (Don't @ Me!)
Okay, unpopular opinion time: Sometimes, dealing with smart TVs is…not that smart. Just saying!

I mean, shouldn't "smart" mean "easy"? Isn't that the point? Just give me my Mickey Mouse Clubhouse already!
But hey, at least now you have options. Hopefully, one of these tricks will get Disney Plus up and running on your Vizio TV.
Now go forth and stream! Just don't blame me if you end up binge-watching all of WandaVision in one sitting.
And if all else fails... maybe a good old-fashioned DVD is the answer? (Just kidding…mostly.)
