How To Edit Townies In Sims 4 Ps4

Hey Simmers! Ever look at a Townie in The Sims 4 on your PS4 and think, "Oh honey, no… that outfit?" Or maybe you're just tired of seeing Agnes Crumplebottom scowling in the same dress (again!). Well, good news! You CAN tweak those digital denizens, and it's easier than you might think. So grab your virtual coffee, and let’s dive in!
First Things First: Is This Even Possible?
Yep! You betcha. Don't let anyone tell you it's a myth. While the PS4 version does have some limitations compared to PC (sob!), editing Townies is totally doable. Think of it as giving your virtual neighbors a much-needed makeover intervention. They'll thank you for it...probably.
Method #1: The CAS (Create-A-Sim) Route – My Personal Fave!
Okay, this is the most straightforward way. Here's the lowdown:
Must Read
- Find Your Townie. Wander around the neighborhood (or use the map – duh!), and locate the Sim you want to revamp. Is it Bella Goth? Mortimer? Maybe even that random Sim sporting a questionable hat and mismatched shoes?
- Befriend the Target. This is key. You need to get your Sim to be, at the very least, acquaintances with the Townie. Think small talk, friendly interactions, maybe even a quirky compliment ("Love your… personality!").
- Invite Them Over. Once you've got a budding friendship (or at least a cordial one), invite them to your Sim's humble abode. Pizza helps. Seriously.
- The Ultimate Invitation: Ask to Move In. Now, this is where the magic happens. Ask the Townie to move in with your Sim. Don't panic! You don't actually have to live with them forever.
- CAS Time! Once they're part of your household, even temporarily, you can access them in CAS (Create-A-Sim). Simply click on them, choose "Plan Outfit," and then "Edit in CAS." BAM! The makeover begins!
- The Great Escape (for the Townie). After you've unleashed your inner stylist and transformed them into a Sim worthy of the cover of Sim Vogue, you need to boot them back to their original home. The easiest way? Split the household! Kick them back to their original lot. They'll be slightly better dressed this time, though. Hopefully.
It might seem like a lot of steps, but trust me, it's worth it to avoid further fashion crimes in your Sim world. And besides, who doesn't love a good neighborly makeover?
Method #2: Cheats (Because Who Doesn't Love a Good Cheat?)
Alright, if you’re feeling a little less patient (and honestly, who isn't sometimes?), you can use cheats. But be warned: this requires a little more finesse and might feel a tad less "realistic" (as if The Sims is inherently realistic, lol!).

- Enable Cheats. On your PS4 controller, press all four shoulder buttons (L1, L2, R1, R2) at the same time. A cheat box will appear at the top of the screen.
- Type in 'testingcheats true'. Case sensitive, so watch out! Press enter. This unlocks a whole bunch of cheat-y goodness.
- Type in 'cas.fulleditmode'. Press enter. This gives you access to all the CAS features, even those usually locked for existing Sims.
- Now, find your target Townie. Click on them and choose "Edit in CAS." (This option should now be available thanks to the cheats!)
Important Note: Cheats can sometimes be a little wonky, so save your game before you start messing around. Just in case something goes sideways and your game decides to rebel. You've been warned!
A Few Extra Tips & Tricks (Because I'm Nice Like That)
- Think About Their Story. Okay, I know it's tempting to just slap a cute outfit on everyone, but consider the Sim's personality and background. A grumpy old man probably wouldn't wear a neon pink tracksuit. (Unless he was going for irony, of course.)
- Don't Go Overboard. A subtle touch-up can go a long way. You don't need to completely overhaul their entire look unless they really deserve it. Maybe just a new hairstyle or a less… aggressive shade of lipstick.
- Experiment! The best part about The Sims is that it’s all about having fun. So don't be afraid to try out different styles and see what works. And if you mess up? Well, that's what the undo button is for. 😉
So there you have it! Now go forth and make those Townies fabulous (or at least slightly less cringe-worthy). Happy Simming!
