How To Change Date And Time On Macbook

Ever felt like your Macbook is living in the past, or maybe the future? Perhaps it’s stubbornly stuck in a different timezone, like it's perpetually vacationing in Fiji while you're stuck in your home office. Fear not, time traveler! Adjusting your Macbook's internal clock is easier than making toast, and way less likely to burn.
Let's Get This Time Machine Working!
First, look for the Apple menu. It's that little apple icon chilling in the top-left corner of your screen. Give it a click!
Then, from the dropdown menu, select 'System Settings'. This is your Macbook's control center, where you can tweak everything from your desktop background to your, well, date and time!
Must Read
Navigating to the Date & Time Settings
A window will pop up showcasing all sorts of customizable options. Look for the search bar in the upper right corner. Type in 'Date & Time' and hit return. Boom! You're halfway there!
Alternatively, you can find Date & Time in the sidebar. Scroll down, down, down, almost like you're searching for buried treasure, until you see 'General', or just Date & Time, depending on your MacOS version.

Click that bad boy. You're getting closer to temporal mastery!
The Moment of Truth: Changing the Date and Time
Now you're in the Date & Time settings panel! You'll probably see a switch labeled 'Set date and time automatically'. This is usually toggled on, meaning your Macbook gets its time from the internet. How convenient is that?!
To make manual changes, you will have to click the little lock icon in the lower left corner. Enter your password, or use Touch ID.

If the automatic setting is on, flip the switch off. Now you can finally seize control of the space-time continuum! (Okay, maybe just your Macbook's clock.)
You'll see the current date and time displayed. Click on the date or time you want to change. A calendar and clock face should appear, ready for your command. Go ahead, make it July 4th or New Year's Eve, it's your call!

Time Zone Shenanigans
Changing the time zone is just as easy. You will find a setting named 'Time Zone'.
Click on the dropdown menu to select your desired timezone. If you can't find your city, try searching for a major city within the same timezone. For instance, if you live in a small town in California, just search for Los Angeles.
You also have the option to set time zone automatically, by using your current location. If you are on the move a lot, this might be a great option.

Lock It Down!
Once you've made your changes, make sure to click the lock icon again. This prevents any accidental time-traveling mishaps (or, you know, prevents your cat from accidentally setting your Macbook to the year 2347).
And there you have it! You've successfully bent time to your will (within the confines of your Macbook, of course). Now go forth and conquer your schedule, knowing that your Macbook is perfectly in sync with your life. Good job, time lord!
Remember, with great power comes great responsibility. Use your newfound temporal abilities wisely!
