How Not To Summon A Demon Lord Ecchi

Okay, let's talk How Not to Summon a Demon Lord. You know, that anime? The one with, shall we say, certain... assets.
We all know it's an isekai. Guy gets pulled into a game world. He's super OP. Blah blah blah.
But let's be real. Are we really watching for the plot?
Must Read
The "Plot" Thickens (Or Doesn't?)
The story's... there. Diablo (our overpowered protagonist) has to, like, stop demon lords or something. I think.
Honestly, I sometimes forget the main plot thread. It's hard when there's... other things happening on screen.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a good power fantasy as much as the next person. But the power fantasy often takes a backseat.

Unpopular Opinion Time!
Here's my controversial take: the ecchi... distracts. There, I said it!
It often feels like it's there just to be there. Like a checklist item: "Okay, gotta have the obligatory accidental groping scene!"
Do these scenes add anything to the story? Debatable.
Character Development... Sort Of
We've got Rem, the cute pantherian. Then there's Shera, the elven archer. And of course, Diablo is the edge lord.

They all have backstories! Tragic ones, even! But...
Sometimes, I wish we focused more on those backstories. Less on the bouncing.
Imagine the character development we could have! We could truly understand why Rem and Shera are like this!

The Ecchi Balancing Act
I get it. It's part of the show's identity. It's what some people are watching for.
But sometimes, it feels a little... much. It's like they're trying too hard to be edgy.
A little mystery and innuendo can go a long way, right?
Final Thoughts (Before I Get Canceled)
Look, I'm not saying the show is bad. It's entertaining in its own way. The action scenes are fun!

But personally? I think How Not to Summon a Demon Lord could be even better if it toned down the fanservice just a tad.
Maybe focus a bit more on world-building. Develop the characters beyond their... assets.
Maybe, just maybe, it could be a truly great isekai. Not just a booby isekai. There is a subtle difference!
But hey, that's just my opinion. And you know what they say about opinions...
