I kind of think SVU should…maybe… consider wrapping things up? Just a little bit?

Don't get me wrong! I love Olivia Benson. I respect the heck out of the show's longevity. It is a cultural phenomenon.

But hasn’t it run its course? I mean, after 24+ seasons, are we still genuinely surprised by anything?

Each episode sort of blurs into the next. Another crime. Another emotional monologue from Olivia Benson. Another perp brought to justice. Rinse and repeat.

I’m not saying the crimes aren’t important. But the formula has become… predictable. The shock value feels a little less shocking now.

Is It Just Me?

Maybe I'm just getting old. Maybe I crave something new and shiny. Or maybe Law & Order: SVU has simply become a comfort blanket. Familiar and reliable but perhaps past its creative peak.

It's like that favorite sweater you've had since college. It's comfy, but maybe it's time to donate it and find something new. You can only wear a sweater so many times!

Consider this: At this point, SVU could probably do a crossover with itself. Like, Olivia Benson investigates a crime committed by… Olivia Benson from Season 2. Time travel is involved. Just kidding…mostly.
