Don't get me wrong, I adore Yaguchi's journey. His struggles, his triumphs, the sheer relatable chaos of art school. But at some point, does the narrative risk getting diluted?
Think of it like your favorite song. You love it. You play it on repeat. But after the 50th time, you start to hear the flaws. The magic fades a little. I'm scared that's going to happen with Blue Period!
The initial arc of Yaguchi discovering art, facing his fears, and getting into Geidai was chef's kiss. The intensity was palpable.
But continuing on, it runs the risk of starting to dilute some of the initial impact. And I worry that if it goes on too long, the focus might become blurred. I'd hate to see that for a series that started out so brilliantly!
Maybe it's time to let Yaguchi graduate, find his path, and let us, the readers, ponder the meaning of it all. Leave us wanting more, rather than feeling like we've had too much of a good thing.
