How Many Volumes Are There Of Spy X Family

Okay, let's talk Spy x Family. Everyone's obsessed, right? Adorable Anya, suave Loid, and thorny Yor. What's not to love?
But then comes the big question: How many volumes are even out? It feels like a never-ending spy mission just to keep track!
The Official Count (So Far...)
Officially? As of late 2024, we're looking at around 13 volumes in Japan. Translations take time, so the English count might lag a little. Sneaky!
Must Read
Don't quote me on that exact number though. New volumes pop up faster than Loid can change disguises. It's a wild ride.
My (Slightly Unpopular) Opinion
Here's where I get controversial. Are we really counting correctly? Think about it.
Each volume has chapters, right? And some arcs feel... stretched. I'm just saying!

Maybe, just maybe, we could have condensed some of those storylines. Just a thought.
I love Spy x Family, I do. But sometimes I feel like I'm waiting for the plot to... move a bit faster. Like Anya trying to study.
Anyone else feel me on this? Or am I alone in this thought?
The Anime Effect
The anime definitely changes things. It adapts chapters, creating a different viewing experience.

Watching Loid's internal monologues is fantastic, but reading the manga lets you savor the details differently. It's like comparing wine and grape juice – both delicious, but different experiences.
Sometimes the anime feels like it covers more than the equivalent number of manga volumes. It's the pacing, I think.
Maybe they should release "Director's Cut" manga volumes! More Anya, more Bond. Who's with me?

So, How Many Should There Be?
This is the million-dollar question. It depends on the story, of course.
Do we need 50 volumes of Anya's school adventures? Maybe not. Unless it involves epic dodgeball tournaments, then sign me up!
I'd personally love a few volumes focused on Yor's backstory. More details on her training. We need it!
"Eleganto!" - Anya, probably agreeing with my plea for more content.
Ultimately, the right number of volumes is however many it takes to tell a great story. But a little less filler wouldn't hurt, right?

And maybe a guidebook on how Loid manages to afford all those disguises. Seriously, what's his budget?
The Verdict
So, keep an eye on those official volume counts. But don't be afraid to have your own opinions on pacing.
Let's all enjoy the Forger family's chaotic adventures, however many volumes it takes. But please, Tatsuya Endo, give us some more Bond moments! He's the real MVP.
Long live Spy x Family! Even if I think it could be a tad more... efficient. Don't @ me.
