Okay, let's talk Chainsaw Man. Great manga, right? Devils, chainsaws, angst... we love it all.

But how many volumes are actually out there? It's a question that's surprisingly... complicated.

Most folks will tell you Chainsaw Man is split into two parts. Part 1, the "Public Safety Arc," has 11 volumes.

Then there's Part 2, the "Academy Arc." This is ongoing, so the volume count is still growing! Currently it has 16 volumes. And counting!

So, adding them up, we get 27, easy right? But... is it?

I'm going to say something controversial. Prepare yourselves.

I think Chainsaw Man should ONLY be 11 volumes. (Okay, maybe 12. Don't @ me.)

Hear me out! Part 1 is just... so much better. It's tight, it's focused, it's a masterpiece!

Part 2 feels... different. New characters, different pacing, the vibe is off.

It's like Fujimoto (the amazing mangaka) decided to write a completely new manga. But he did so by keeping some elements from Chainsaw Man.

It's not bad, per se. It's just... not the same chainsaw-fueled frenzy. I'd rather keep part 1.

The ending of Part 1 felt like... an ending. Denji had learned a lot. He wasn't a god, he was just a dude.

He has a lot of dogs to feed! It wrapped up nicely. You know?

Starting a whole new arc, with a brand new school setting? It's like trying to recapture lightning in a bottle.

Objectively, the real answer is that there will be 27+ volumes of Chainsaw Man. 11 for Part 1 and counting for Part 2.

But in my heart? Chainsaw Man will always be 11 volumes of pure, unadulterated devil-hunting brilliance.

Maybe I'm being nostalgic. Maybe I'm just resisting change. But that's my story and I'm sticking to it!
