How Many Seasons Are There Of Outlander On Starz

So, How Many Seasons of Outlander Are We REALLY Talking About?
Okay, let's get right to it. Officially? Six. That's what Starz says. That's what Wikipedia says. But...I have a confession.
I have an unpopular Outlander opinion. Prepare yourselves. It's about to get spicy.
Hear Me Out: It's More Than Six!
I know, I know. Numbers are numbers. But think about it. Does anyone else feel like some of these seasons are, shall we say, uneven?
Must Read
Season five, for example, felt like it ended before it really got going. Like a rollercoaster that only goes up a small hill. Then you are back to the starting point again.
And then there's Season Six. A mere eight episodes? That's practically a miniseries! It felt incomplete.

The Case for Splitting Seasons
This is where I get controversial. I think Season Six should have been combined with what's coming in Season Seven. Think about it: We had the build up of the Revolutionary war, the christie storyline, Claire's illness. All of that needs a satisfying conclusion. And eight episodes just didn't cut it.
I feel like we should be looking at the entire story arc. Like one big, long, time-traveling saga. Shouldn't the ending be worth the wait and anticipation?
It's like when your favorite ice cream place only gives you half a scoop. You feel cheated! You expect a decent scoop. You know? You deserve a full scoop, especially with all the drama and romance this story has given us.

The REAL Number? It's Complicated
So, officially, six seasons. But in my heart? And in the hearts of many devoted fans? It's...more fluid. It's a six and a half. Or maybe seven minus a few episodes.
Maybe we need a recount. Like they do for elections. We can all vote for how long they can film and when the season can end. The people have the power to decide.
It's all about how you feel the story. Right? It all depends on where you feel like the beginning of the end is.

Waiting (Im)Patiently for Season Seven
Regardless of the "official" number, one thing's for sure. We're all eagerly waiting for Season Seven. Bring on the kilts, the battles, and the Jamie and Claire moments!
And please, Starz, give us a season that feels complete. A rollercoaster that goes up the hill and all the way down.
Maybe then, just maybe, I'll finally be satisfied with the season count. Until then, I'll be here, with my "unpopular" opinion, counting episodes and waiting.

And secretly hoping for Outlander to go on forever.
My final and unpopular opinion: Each Outlander season should have 24 episodes. That's the right number. Period.
