How Many Seasons Are In High School Dxd

So, How Many Seasons Really Are There of High School DxD? (My Unpopular Opinion)
Okay, let's talk High School DxD. We all love (or love to hate) it, right? The important question that’s on my mind: the season count!
Officially, most sources say four. Four seasons of demonic shenanigans and plot, I mean, uh, character development. But, is that really true?
The "Official" Story: Four Seasons and Done
Let's face it. Season four... it was different. Something felt off, like your favorite pizza recipe got replaced with broccoli and sadness.
Must Read
The animation style was a major shift. Remember the original, uh, bounce? It was... toned down.
The storyline felt rushed. It was almost as if they wanted to wrap things up quickly. Too quickly, in my opinion.
My Hot Take: There Are ONLY Three Seasons
Here's where the controversy begins. I firmly believe High School DxD only has three seasons. Hear me out!

Season four, also known as High School DxD HERO, feels like a bad fan fiction. Like someone else tried to finish High School DxD’s homework.
It just doesn't capture the same magic. Or the same... ahem, assets.
Why Season Four Doesn't Count (For Me)
The animation change is the biggest offender. It's jarring, to say the least. Think of it like recasting your favorite character with someone who just doesn't fit. Like replacing Issei Hyodo with a cardboard cutout.

Then there's the pacing. Things move too fast, important details are glossed over. It feels like they crammed a whole manga arc into a few episodes. Leaving out important plot points.
The characters feel slightly off, too. Their personalities feel different, almost watered down. The character development doesn't hit the way it used to. Especially Rias Gremory.
I'm Not Alone, Am I?
I know I'm not the only one who feels this way. Plenty of fans have expressed their disappointment with season four. Joining them with similar experiences.
The change in studio really hurt the show. The original studio understood the assignment. New studio? Not so much.

It's not that Passione is a bad studio; they've done some good work. But the studio just wasn't a good fit for High School DxD’s essence.
So, What's the Verdict?
For me, High School DxD is a three-season masterpiece. Season four exists, yes, but it's like that one bad sequel you try to forget ever happened.
I choose to live in a world where Born is the true ending. It keeps the story complete, ending on a somewhat satisfying note.

What do you think? Am I crazy? Or do you also pretend season four doesn't exist?
Let's Debate!
Sound off in the comments! Tell me why I'm wrong (or right!). Maybe with enough fans, we can erase Season 4 from existence.
Maybe there’s a chance the franchise could get the treatment it deserves, if it ever gets rebooted.
Until then, I’ll keep rewatching seasons one through three. Ignoring the broccoli-flavored pizza.
