Think about it. It's enough time to introduce characters. We need enough to introduce the main plot points.
And of course, cliffhangers! Gotta keep us hooked. It is all about the plot.
My Unpopular Opinion: It Needs More!
Here's where I might lose some of you. I think it deserves more than 12-13 episodes. Fight me!
Hear me out! The world-building is complex, very complex. We have so many characters. There are like 5 love interests... per gender of the protagonist.
Trying to squeeze all that into a standard season? Sacrilege! I like the characters.
The Source Material Factor
The light novel series is HUGE. There's a lot of material to adapt.
Skipping content could ruin the flow. It would just feel rushed and terrible. No one wants that.
Imagine them cutting out Leon's inner monologues? The horror! That inner voice is the best!
Potential for Multiple Seasons
Maybe, just maybe, we'll get lucky. Multiple seasons could be the answer. Fingers crossed!
Think about it: Season one introduces the world. The next dives deeper into specific arcs. Season Three: Leon becomes a super-powered dating god?
Look, I'm just spitballing here. But I want MORE Leon, MORE Olivia, and especially MORE Angelica.

Okay, okay. I know my dreams might be too big. Anime adaptations are expensive.
And let's be real: not every show gets a second season. Sad, but true.
Still, a guy can dream, right? Right?
So, How Many Episodes Will It Really Have?
The answer, my friends, is probably the standard 12. Maybe 13 if we're lucky. It's all about money.
But a part of me hopes they surprise us. Maybe throw in a few OVAs. I need my Leon fix.
