How Many Episodes Will Mieruko Chan Have

Okay, let's talk about Mieruko-chan. Specifically, how many episodes it got. And maybe, just maybe, how many it should have gotten.
The official answer? Twelve. Twelve spooky, hilarious, and sometimes surprisingly touching episodes. But is that enough?
Twelve Episodes: A Good Run?
Twelve episodes is pretty standard anime fare. It's a comfortable length for a single season, wrapping up most plot threads… mostly.
Must Read
We got to see Miko's ever-present terror. We met some memorable ghosts. And we saw her friendship with Hana blossom.
It felt like a decent enough story arc, didn't it? But.
Here's My Unpopular Opinion...
I think Mieruko-chan could have benefited from more episodes.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed what we got. But the ending felt a little… rushed. Like they were trying to cram too much into the final stretch.
Remember that whole mystery surrounding Godmother? It felt like that needed more development. We deserved a more in-depth backstory!
Room for Growth (and Ghosts)
Imagine if we had, say, sixteen or even twenty episodes. Think of the possibilities!
More time to explore Miko's powers. More creepy ghosts lurking in the background. More awkward situations with her oblivious best friend.

We could have delved deeper into the side characters. What's really going on with Zen Toono, that creepy substitute teacher? Give us answers!
I'm not saying the existing episodes are bad. Far from it! They're great. But the world of Mieruko-chan is so rich. It just felt like we were only scratching the surface.
Missed Opportunities?
Perhaps the studio was limited by budget or source material. Maybe they felt twelve episodes was the perfect length.

But I can't help but feel like we missed out on some amazing storytelling potential. Think of the meme potential! The reaction videos!
More episodes means more opportunities for Miko to perfect her "not seeing anything" face. And let's be honest, that's a gift to us all.
What Could Have Been
Imagine a whole episode dedicated to Miko trying to navigate a haunted amusement park. Or a summer vacation filled with terrifying seaside spirits. The possibilities are endless!
The show has a fantastic blend of horror and comedy. More episodes would have allowed for even more creative scares and laugh-out-loud moments.

I'd even argue that a longer season could have helped smooth out some of the pacing issues. The second half felt like it was sprinting towards the finish line.
Ultimately, Mieruko-chan gave us a wild ride. Twelve episodes of pure, unadulterated terror and awkwardness. But I'm left wondering... what if?
Am I alone in this? Or does anyone else feel like Mieruko-chan deserved a longer run?
Let's hope for a Season 2 with a few more episodes, huh?
