How Many Episodes Will Be In Nine Perfect Strangers

So, About Those Strangers...And The Episodes...
Okay, Nine Perfect Strangers fans, let's get real. We all watched those nine (very complicated) people at Tranquillum House. We all wondered what was really in those smoothies. But the biggest question? How many episodes are we talking about, anyway?
The series is based on a book by Liane Moriarty, a queen of juicy dramas. Naturally, we expected plenty of twists and turns. And we definitely got them.
Eight is Enough? (Spoiler: For Me, Maybe)
The official answer is eight. Eight episodes of wellness retreats gone wild. Eight episodes of Melissa McCarthy being both hilarious and slightly terrifying.
Must Read
But here’s my potentially unpopular opinion: eight episodes felt like…a lot. Anyone else?
Don't get me wrong, I loved the show. The cast was amazing. The scenery was gorgeous (even when things got weird). But by episode six, I was starting to feel like I needed my own wellness retreat from the wellness retreat.

Pacing Problems? (Or Just My Short Attention Span?)
It wasn’t the story itself. Moriarty's plots are generally addictive. It was more the pacing. Things dragged a bit. Especially when we already knew something crazy was about to happen!
Maybe six episodes would have been the perfect sweet spot? Enough time to develop the characters. Enough time for the drama to unfold. But not so much time that I started checking my watch during meditation scenes.

Tranquillum House: A Tourist Trap or a True Escape?
Think about it. We meet the characters. They arrive at Tranquillum. Things get progressively stranger. Then BAM! Climax. Resolution (of sorts). Roll credits. That's a pretty standard arc.
Did we really need eight hours to get there? Or could the writers have trimmed the fat a little? Just asking for a friend (that friend is me).
And let's be honest, some of those flashbacks felt... unnecessary. Like, we get it, Carmel is going through a lot. Show, don't tell!

The Streaming Era: Binge or Break?
Maybe it's a symptom of the streaming era. Everything's a binge these days. But sometimes, less is more. A tighter, more concise story can be more impactful.
I know, I know, I'm probably in the minority. Most people probably loved every single second of those eight episodes. But I can't help but feel like Nine Perfect Strangers could have been even more perfect with a slightly shorter run.

Ultimately, I enjoyed
Nine Perfect Strangers. It kept me entertained. It gave me something to talk about with my friends. And it made me seriously question my own wellness habits.
Would I Go Back to Tranquillum?
Would I watch a second season (if there were one)? Probably. Because I'm a sucker for a good drama. And because I want to see what Masha does next.
But maybe, just maybe, next time can it be six episodes? Please?
