How Many Episodes Spy X Family Season 1

Alright, let's talk Spy x Family! Season 1 was a wild ride, right? But how many episodes were there really?
The "Official" Number
Everyone says there were 25 episodes. Twenty-five! Seems like a lot, doesn't it?
And technically, they're right. 25 is the number. But... is it?

Hear Me Out: It's More Like Two Mini-Seasons
Okay, unpopular opinion incoming. I think of Spy x Family Season 1 as two separate chunks. Little mini-seasons, if you will.
There's that first stretch. You know, the introduction to the Forger family. Loid, Yor, and the adorable Anya. They're building the family, and it is so fun!
Then there's a break. And when they come back, things feel... slightly different.
It is still amazing, I'm not hating on the series. But the vibes are different. It is like a new chapter began.

So, in my head, it is 13 and 12 episodes per “mini-season.”
Why This Matters (Okay, It Doesn't Really)
Does it really matter how we break it down? Probably not. But for me, it helps organize the story.
It helps me remember what happened when. You know, "Oh, that was in the first mini-season!" or "Ah, that was after the break."
Plus, it gives me an excuse to rewatch the first part again. Always a good thing, right?

Am I the Only One?
I cannot be the only one who feels this way. Surely someone else noticed the shift in pacing and storytelling. Tell me I'm not crazy!
Maybe it is because I binged it. Binging things does weird things to your perception of time.
Or maybe it is just my brain trying to make sense of the world. Either way, I am sticking to my guns.
Ultimately, It's All Spy x Family
Regardless of how you count them, the episodes are great. The show has fantastic animation and storytelling.

The characters are lovable (even with their flaws). The plot is engaging. What is not to love?
And whether you see it as 25 episodes or two smaller seasons, Spy x Family Season 1 delivered.
The Real Question: When's Season 3?
Okay, so maybe I am hung up on the season 1 number. But here's the real question: Where's Season 3? I need more Forger family adventures in my life!
Anya needs more peanuts. Loid needs to complete his mission. Yor needs to keep being the best assassin (and a terrible cook).

So, while we wait, I am going to rewatch my "first mini-season" of Spy x Family. You should too!
Let's keep the spy-family spirit alive! Who knows, maybe if we watch it enough, Season 3 will magically appear.
And hey, maybe I will even start counting the episodes the "official" way. Maybe.
But probably not. My headcanon is pretty strong. Sorry, not sorry!
