How Many Episodes Of Season 8 Brooklyn 99

Okay, let's talk Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Specifically, Season 8. The final season.
The Big Question: How Many Episodes?
So, how many episodes did we get? Ten. A measly ten! Is that all?
Ten episodes to wrap up all those amazing storylines? To say goodbye to the Nine-Nine?
Must Read
Ten Episodes...Really?
I know, I know. Production was tough. The world was…weird. But still.
Ten episodes just felt… short. Like eating only half a donut.
It was a donut sprinkled with glitter and pure joy, mind you. But half a donut nonetheless!
My Unpopular Opinion: It Wasn't Enough!
Here comes the hot take! I needed more. Way more.
Don't get me wrong, I loved what we got. Every joke, every heartfelt moment, every Jake Peralta ridiculous scheme.

But ten episodes to say goodbye to characters we've spent years with? Criminal! (Pun intended, naturally.)
Imagine the Possibilities!
Think of all the plotlines they could have explored. What happened with Rosa Diaz's private investigating?
Did Captain Holt and Kevin ever get a dog? We deserved answers!
And Amy Santiago adjusting to motherhood AND being a Captain? That's gold, Jerry! Gold!
Okay, Okay, I'm Being Dramatic
Maybe I'm being a bit dramatic. Possibly. Fine, definitely.

Ten episodes is better than zero episodes. I am eternally grateful for what we got.
The finale was beautiful. It was fitting. It made me cry (don't judge!).
But Still...Ten?
It just felt… rushed. Like they were trying to cram a whole Thanksgiving feast into a tiny appetizer plate.
They could have given us a two-part episode for each main character! Imagine the comedic possibilities.
A whole episode dedicated to Boyle's latest culinary invention? Yes, please!

Maybe It's Just the Grief Talking
Perhaps this is just my way of grieving the end of a truly special show.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine was more than just a comedy. It was a warm hug on a bad day.
It showed us that found family is the best kind of family. And that donuts are essential.
So, What's the Verdict?
Ultimately, ten episodes of Season 8 is what we got. And we should cherish them.
But deep down, a tiny part of me will always wonder... what if?

What if we'd gotten thirteen? Fifteen? Twenty-two? (Okay, I'm pushing it now.)
Maybe, just maybe, in some alternate universe, there's a Season 8 with way more episodes. A girl can dream.
In the meantime, I'll just rewatch the whole series. Again. For the tenth time.
Because even ten episodes of Brooklyn Nine-Nine is better than any amount of most other shows. No doubt.
Nine-Nine!
