How Many Episodes Of Murder In The Building

Okay, let's talk Murder in the Building. We all love it, right? But I have a confession to make.
How Many Episodes Are Too Many?
I'm going to say something potentially controversial. Are there too many episodes already? Hear me out before you grab your pitchforks. Maybe, just maybe, the charm is starting to...thin?
Season 1: Perfection
The first season? Pure gold. Ten episodes of perfectly paced mystery. Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez were a comedic dream team.
Must Read
It introduced us to the Arconia. That building is practically a character itself! Each episode pulled us deeper into the whodunit.
Season 2: Still Good...But
Season two was still enjoyable, don't get me wrong. But the spark wasn't quite as bright. Ten more episodes felt a tad stretched, didn't it?
Adding new characters was fun. However, the central mystery felt…less central. More like a series of quirky side quests.

Season 3: The Questionable One
Then came season three. Oof. Another ten episodes. By this point, I was starting to feel like I lived in the Arconia, too! And not in a good way.
Paul Rudd was great, of course. But even his star power couldn't fully resurrect the magic. Am I alone in feeling this way?
The Problem Isn't the Show, It's...Longevity?
It's not that Murder in the Building suddenly became bad. The writing is still sharp. The cast is still amazing.

Maybe the joke has simply run its course. Thirty episodes is a lot! Especially when each season follows a similar formula.
Think about your favorite sitcoms. Some knew when to quit. Others... not so much. Remember the later seasons of The Office?
My Unpopular Opinion: Less is More
So, here's my potentially heretical suggestion. What if future seasons were shorter? Like, maybe six episodes?

Imagine a tightly woven, fast-paced mystery. No filler. Just pure, unadulterated Arconia goodness. Wouldn't that be amazing?
Fewer episodes could allow the writers to focus on quality over quantity. It could also prevent the show from becoming stale and repetitive.
I know, I know. More Murder in the Building seems like a good thing. But sometimes, too much of a good thing can be...well, too much!

Maybe I'm just being a grumpy old millennial. But I truly believe that less could be more in this case. Protect the legacy, you know?
Don't get me wrong, I still love Charles-Haden Savage, Oliver Putnam, and Mabel Mora. I just want them to go out on a high note.
Maybe it's time to solve one last murder and gracefully exit the Arconia. Just a thought!
Let me know in the comments if you agree. Or if you think I'm completely bonkers. Either way, I'm ready for the debate!
