How Many Episodes Of Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid
Okay, let's talk Dragon Maid. It's cute. It's chaotic. It's got dragons doing human things. But how much Dragon Maid is enough?
The Episode Count: A Primer
So, officially, there are two seasons. Season one clocks in at 13 episodes. Season two, subtitled "S," also has 13. That's 26 episodes of dragon shenanigans, right?
Plus, there are some OVAs (Original Video Animations). These are like bonus episodes! They usually have extra silliness. One OVA is bundled with the first season Blu-ray.
Must Read
And there's also an unaired episode for Season 2, available in the Blu-ray release. That gives you 28 episodes in total. Simple enough?
The Endless Loop Feeling
But here's my controversial opinion. Does it ever feel like you're watching the same episode over and over? I mean, I love Tohru, but...
It's the same basic formula. Something weird happens. The dragons react. Kobayashi sighs. Hilarious chaos ensues. Repeat.

Don't get me wrong, the formula works. But after a while, the novelty wears off, doesn't it? It's like eating the same delicious cake every single day.
Is 26 (Or 28) Too Many?
I’m going to say it: yes, maybe. Hear me out! I love the characters. Kanna is adorable. Lucoa is... well, Lucoa. But each episode feels like diminishing returns.
Remember that first episode where Tohru offered to be Kobayashi's maid? That was amazing! So fresh and new. Every episode can’t reach that height.

And that's okay! Not every show needs to be a masterpiece every single week. But still, I think Dragon Maid could've benefited from being a bit shorter.
Quality Over Quantity, People!
Imagine if Season One had, say, 10 episodes. And Season Two had another 10. Twenty episodes of peak Dragon Maid. Wouldn't that be incredible?
Less filler. More focused storylines. Maybe even some actual character development (beyond "dragons learn human things"). Just a thought!

It's like trimming the fat from a good steak. You end up with something even more delicious. Less is sometimes more, and that’s okay.
The Unpopular Opinion Corner
Look, I know I'm probably in the minority here. Most people seem to adore every single second of Dragon Maid. And that's fine!
But I think a tighter, more concise series would have been even better. Maybe I'm just getting old and grumpy. Or maybe I just need more coffee.

But hey, at least we all agree that Fafnir is the best shut-in dragon, right? That's a hill I'm willing to die on.
What Do You Think?
So, what's your take? Are there enough episodes of Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid? Or do you agree that a shorter, more focused run would have been ideal?
Let me know! I'm genuinely curious to hear your opinions. Maybe you can convince me that I'm wrong. (But probably not).
Either way, thanks for reading! Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go rewatch the first few episodes. You know, for research purposes.
